We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal Product Designer for Universal Data-In priority. This is our highest-level individual contributor design role (IC4).

The Data-In priority provides customers with a secure and portable way to store, review, and update their auto-entered data, so it can do more for the customer, whether it be saving time or providing valuable education on their financial lives.

  • Create and articulate an inspiring design vision and strategy that drives innovation and clarity across the teams and stakeholders
  • Accelerate innovation by helping the team to go broad and explore bold ideas. The goal is to speed up learning and experimentation to launch robust offerings confidently into the market
  • Proactively builds strategic relationships to advocate and influence stakeholders to align toward a shared vision of the experience
  • Amplifies and dramatizes customer stories and information through the use of storytelling and prototyping to evoke meaningful and lasting emotional responses and drive action and accountability
  • Role model identifying leap-of-faith assumptions, creating and executing experimentation plans with clearly defined hypotheses and meaningful metrics

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

 

  • 10+ years of experience in interaction or product design for high-profile or award-winning products
  • Deep knowledge of user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem-framing skills and design principles               
  • Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research. Seasoned in Agile development processes
  • Expertise in rallying stakeholders together toward a shared vision through the use of prototyping and storytelling
  • Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision, and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their awesome user experience
  • Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams/groups/functions through facilitative leadership to deliver great results and to "raise the bar" continually as an effective leader of positive change
  • Passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional level and drive business
  • Systems thinker with experience designing products with high degrees of complexity and cross-product interdependencies
  • A strong understanding of user experience and information architecture
  • Strong visual chops with the ability to delight and persuade customers
  • Bold concepts and ideas that challenge the status quo and define the path forward
  • Comfort with ambiguity and can work in environments where the end state is not clearly defined
  • Experience working in an environment of rapid experimentation and ability to pair quantitative and qualitative data to provide strong design rationale
  • Experience facilitating workshops and conceptualizing ideas with disciplines outside of the Design function

Responsibilities

How You Will Lead

 

  • Collaborate with the Design team and cross-functional partners in Development, Product Management, Data, Customer Success, and Marketing to ensure problems and interdependencies are holistically understood and solved from an ecosystem perspective
  • Deliver multiple projects simultaneously through robust communication and time management skills
  • Participate in and analyze extensive customer research to identify insights that will ultimately provide customer value and delight
  • Leverage iterative prototyping to quickly test concepts and learn from customers
  • Use storytelling to effectively present and communicate your designs and rationale to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Drive design decisions through data by partnering with our analytics and customer success teams
  • Assess and account for up and downstream impacts of new product releases through a strong understanding of information architecture
  • Participate in and promote a culture of detailed feedback rooted in first principles, design rationale, customer data, and industry best practices
  • Provide mentorship to co-ops and early career designers from a craft, and cross-discipline partnership perspective

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is CA $189,840 - $256,842. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
