Come join the "QuickBooks Desktop Product Development team (Small Business and Self-Employed Group)" as a "Manager 3".
QuickBooks is the flagship accounting software from Intuit that fuels millions of small business owners and accountants across multiple countries globally. QuickBooks is truly the operating system behind small business accounting and comes in multiple flavors – QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop as well as the mobile edition. The Small Business Group provides multiple offerings of QuickBooks features such as Core Accounting, Payments, Payroll and Point of Sale (POS). The SBG product development team fosters innovation, provide the best in class experience to our small business owners, accountants and through Design for Delight, Rapid Prototyping, Fail Fast and Agile processes.
QuickBooks Desktop is an accounting software for small business owners who need robust inventory management, job costing, and industry-specific features and reporting. Our offerings serve ~3M supported customers today plus ~1M vintage customers. Customers using QuickBooks Desktop can also enable subscription based services like Payments, Payroll and Point of Sale based on their business needs. Customers love QuickBooks Desktop for its familiarity, ease of use and rich features that sets them up for success in their businesses. We also own the Intuit Supplies portal which is an e-commerce business that provides checks and supplies designed to work seamlessly with QuickBooks and Intuit products. QuickBooks Desktop is a Sizable and Profitable business, driving $1.7B+ in revenue every year.

What you'll bring
- At least 15+ years of industry experience with a minimum of two years of proven track record of leading high performing teams demonstrating responsibilities listed.
- Hands on engineering leader who can nurture working with highly motivated and extremely talented engineers to work on high visibility online product.
- Someone with strong belief in agile and lean thinking have a passion for velocity, engineering and operational excellence
- Comfortable working on all tiers of modern applications, from the front-end all the way to the database and strong exposure to Enterprise Java platform, Spring Framework, ReactJS, Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes based container deployments
- Solid software development fundamentals (Data Structures, algorithms, problem solving, OO Design, and system architecture) with specialization on end to end software development using modern SaaS / public cloud deployments with a DevOps mindset
- Expert communicator and love working with multiple stakeholders for common outcomes with high stakes at company level.
- Strong business acumen. Understands the business internal and external landscape and thinks/acts strategically for all stakeholders.
- Drives strategic technology/engine reuse, technology and architecture health, and development process improvement.
- A highly technical and result-oriented leader experienced in determining goals and matching those with customer requirements and product roadmap. Adept at leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
How you will lead
- Deliver high quality customer-driven software offerings products to market that simplify and solve for current customer needs while building for the future.
- Should possess strong technical skills, have a career history of strong hands-on software engineering and development experience, and the tactical and visionary leadership skills to motivate, guide, and earn the respect from a highly talented engineering team.
- Responsible for initiating and driving the adoption of technology, product and process improvements throughout the software delivery life cycle.
- Provide technical leadership, career development, and management of performance, objectives, and priorities of all reporting staff - Build a high performing, results-oriented organization.
- Drive and own the functional and non-functional requirements road map for your organization.
- Develop product expertise and advocate on behalf of the customer.
- Drive initiatives to improve testing at all levels & deliver automation to ensure robustness and protect our customer.
- Embrace & implement new ideas that produce outstanding results for our customers.
- Drive adoption of best practices, tools, systems and metrics across the organization
- Imbibe and coach excellence in product, engineering and operations - Challenge engineers, giving them the right stretch goals based on their career aspirations. Encourage teams to take risks. Inculcates a platform mindset in team so that team develops technical solutions that leverage existing capabilities, including contribution. Owns the operational metrics, driving hygiene investments and balancing product/hygiene
- Works across teams and functions to break down barriers to enable teams to move with urgency
- Evaluates leading industry trends and provides recommendations on new and emerging technologies as they apply to Intuit. Drives the adoption of these product and process improvements.
- Leads through influence to promote changes in skills, approach and mindset needed for where the organization is going. Transforms business ideas into implementable technology solutions, considering build, buy and partnering alternatives. Influence and decisions have impact across the business and functional units.
- Assists in identifying skill set gaps and recruiting, selection and training. Provides input into High Performing Organizational Reviews.
