Job Overview
The QuickBooks Commerce Design team is looking for a Senior Product Designer. At QuickBooks, world-class design helps fuel the success of small businesses and self-employed people around the world. Our designers are involved at every step of a project — from gathering insights, brainstorming, prototyping, and experimentation to launching pixel-perfect designs. You’ll influence the end-to-end customer experience and be responsible for building world-class commerce solutions.
In the US alone, small businesses employ 60% of the workforce and create 80% of new jobs; internationally, the stats are even more skewed. But the odds are stacked against them. One of two fails in the first five years, two of three before they can turn ten. The top pain for small businesses is that the information is spread across multiple systems which makes them spend a lot of time and energy in keeping track of things instead of growing their business and risk losing sight of the business health. This is more true for those looking to sell products on multiple channels includingonline as small businesses struggle to cope with channel-specific rules and processes. The QuickBooks Commerce team aims to solve this pain by bringing inventory, orders from multiple channels, shipping, payments, reporting, and accounting tools into a single application. The combination of QuickBooks Online & Commerce enables customers to sell in more places and reach more customers, without the headache of having to administer each channel separately.

Qualifications
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of experience in interaction design, product design, service design, or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field; Graduate degree a plus
- Deep knowledge of design principles and methods
- Knowledge of web and mobile technology, and their impact on the feasibility of design.
- Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business results
- Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator
- Expertise conveying ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
- Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
- A dazzling online portfolio demonstrating your strong craft and collaborative process
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Solve customer problems by synthesizing behavioral information and imagining things as they might be, not as they are
- Deliver user flow diagrams, interaction patterns, design specs, wireframes, mental models, information architecture, and prototypes using emotional design methods
- Participate, and often lead, customer research with clear goals, a testable hypothesis, and learning plan
- Conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas and then narrow based on experimentation and customer research
- Collaborate effectively with other designers, content strategists, product managers, marketers, and researchers
- Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews
- Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends
