Since 2018 the UK online Payroll business has experienced massive growth, doubling the revenue and growing the customer base by 50% year over year. With over 600,000 customers in the UK, and a high percentage of whom use payroll, this is a great opportunity for a multifaceted product leader who deeply understands what it takes to establish a great product management organisation in the areas of product strategy, operations, people, and process to drive the next phase of growth for our UK online Payroll business

Qualifications

• Proven track record in product management roles designing and delivering world class solutions that have delighted customers and driven business growth
• Proven track record of attracting and growing top talent and building high performing teams
• Track record of working effectively in a matrix environment
• Passion for solving problems, about unearthing customer insights to guide product solutions
• Must have deep customer empathy and curiosity
• Hands-on, hardworking, scrappy, energized by the challenge of winning in new markets
• 8+ years designing and delivering world-class products in a Product Management role
• 3+ years of experience working on consumer products and with small businesses, with a portfolio of product and feature releases that demonstrate well-crafted customer experiences
• 3+ years of experience managing a team of Product Managers
• Experience driving growth of product from launch phase to scaled adoption, including demonstrated ability to set a broad vision and translate to a roadmap with end-to-end execution
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels
• Develops and defends strong points of view with data and analytics; comfortable with statistical analysis, and not afraid to be wrong - but adjusts rapidly to new data
• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
• High level of professionalism, passion and a sense of urgency to “make things happen”
• Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior leadership to form a product strategy and vision that align with our key strategic goals as an organisation
• Serve as a key leader on the Online Payroll Product Management leadership team and working closely with cross-functional leaders in UK
• Lead product prioritisation processes across organisations ensuring we deliver products that solve the biggest customer problem, deliver strong market position and generate durable business benefits (revenues, adoption, retention, etc.)
• Take ownership of the product strategy and roadmap for our product, driving towards positive customer and business outcomes
• Form high performing relationships with engineering and design leadership, creating feedback loops that make for fantastic end products
• Motivate, empower, and grow a team of talented product managers to deliver solutions that delight our customers and challenge the status quo
  • Create a team culture that foster learning and executional excellence
  • Inspire and develop product managers to define innovative solutions for local customer needs using design thinking methodologies 
  • Coach teams to make data-backed decisions and set a high bar on metric goals
  • Encourage a culture of experimentation, learning, and a growth-mindset - never settling for the status quo and innovating on the bleeding edge of what’s possible
• Know our competitors, their offerings and how our offerings compare 
• Collaborate with other QuickBooks ecosystem partners (e.g., Capital, Payroll, Sales tax, Time tracking, and Accounting, etc.) to build end-to-end delightful experiences for the consumer
