Overview
Come join the "Smart Money Services Analytics, Insights & Governance team" as "Analytics & Governance manager". We are seeking an individual to manage a team of data scientists focused on leveraging advanced analytics to drive meaningful analytics and insights, validate our risk governance controls for our Small Business Risk group. We have an exciting opportunity to help shape how we use data and technology to create data-driven experiences across our portfolio of small business products, and this role will be central to unlocking new opportunities rooted in our data. This role will partner closely with Risk Policy managers, Data engineering, Finance, Audit, Operations and will balance individual contribution with direct management of a growing team.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of experience working in Risk, Policy, analytics, or other related analytics/data science fields experience
- 3 + years of experience managing data analysts with a proven track record of developing successful teams
- Strong analytical foundation as an individual contributor and manager – expert command of analytical tools and techniques, statistical modeling, state-of-the-art tools, and engineering best practices
- Hands-on expertise with data mining and statistical modeling techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, tree-based methods, anomaly detection is a plus.
- Expertise in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Python (highly preferred). Efficient in SQL, Hive, SparkSQL, etc.
- Outstanding communications skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Ability to tell stories with data, educate effectively, and instill confidence, motivating stakeholders to act on recommendations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and end-to-end quantitative thinking
- Strong organizational skills, time management, portfolio prioritization experience, and accountability required
How you will lead
- Lead and develop a team of high-performing data analysts, including hiring top talent and investing in their growth
- Oversee the monitoring and validation of risk and non-risk controls for the Small Business Money movement product offerings
- Provide/inspire data innovation & transformation that fuel the growth of Intuit as a whole, and offer technical leadership across multiple teams to accelerate growth of automated and self-service capabilities
- Provides guidance and support leadership to Business leaders and stakeholders on how best to harness available data in support of critical business needs and goals
- Leads the full cycle of iterative big data exploration, including hypothesis formulation, algorithm development, data cleansing, testing, insight generation/visualization, and action planning
- Uses considerable expertise and independent judgment in collaborating with peers, data engineers, database managers, and business analysts in designing and implementing the research strategy needed to methodically and iteratively structure, extract, cleanse, sample, test, validate, and communicate data-driven insights from complex sources and significant volumes of data for complex and unique business problems
- Applies proven methods and hacking skills in working with divergent data types, data scales, and big data (petabytes), to explore and extrapolate data-driven insights using advanced, predictive statistical modeling and testing applied to data acquired and cleansed from a range of sources (relational and non-relational NoSQL databases)
- Provides to business stakeholders the entrepreneurial guidance essential for appropriately interpreting and building on findings, and fully exploiting the insights revealed through the research
