Overview

Are you interested in enabling data to make decisions through Machine learning? Can you envision a future where technology is driven primarily by smarter machines?

This role is within our Smart Money Services (SMS) team within the Small Business and Self-Employed Group (SBSEG) that is scaling the risk and money movement platform across Intuit. Within SMS, our team's mission is to make the underlying fabric of data seamlessly accessible (easy, stronger, and universal) to our machine learning models to manage risk and fraud while enabling growth and success of our small businesses and self-employed customers. 

Today we own the global risk and money movement platform across Intuit. This platform enables rapid development of risk and fraud policies to detect, prevent, and eradicate product gaps that enable bad actors to defraud Intuit and its customers. We are seeking a senior product manager on our team whose job it will be to help drive data platform efforts to enable our policy and machine learning teams to leapfrog their controls and move fast on scaling our controls as we scale our business segments. Strong technical skill and experience with go to market, pricing, customer obsession and remarkable product vision is a must.   • Product Expert: Owns end-to-end product experience; brings demonstrated experience building or supporting AI/ML driven solutions as well as creating tests and experiments to drive growth, conversion and retention of invoicing/payments products
  • Problem Solver: Knows when and how to be scrappy and entrepreneurial, hypothesis driven and analytical; exercises strong judgement when balancing risks and while making trade-off decisions
  • Product Owner:  Creates and evangelizes a killer roadmap that inspires the organization in service of our customers; can deploy impact-driven prioritization frameworks; can use and teach agile methodologies; can mentor junior PMs
  • Customer Champion: Has deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitor insights; is obsessed with solving customer problems; stays close to the customer, industry trends and connected ecosystem to bring unique differentiation to the small business experiences
  • Influencing Skills: Able to build consensus using data, metrics, and analysis to drive business and system strategy; skilled in stakeholder management and communication at all levels of the organization; can effectively tailor communications to the appropriate audience to ensure broad alignment, awareness, and advocacy of the product
  • Technical Complexity:  Manages a high degree of difficulty and instills rigor in the analysis, modelling, and unblocking teams on data dependencies. These dependencies include enabling access to clean data, ensuring high data quality (completeness, consistency, accuracy, and timeliness), unifying disintegrated data sources, and integrating with data within/outside of the Intuit ecosystem. 
  • Impact: Delivers artifacts that drive decision making on critical staffing levels, service levels, and expenses
  • Execution: Initiates the design, development, and implementation of analysis projects that optimize automated vs. manual decisions; applies analytical principles/concepts to problems; makes informed trade-offs to deliver results; coordinates seamless go-to-market activities
  • Domain Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of machine learning (build and deploy ML models).  Strong understanding of data platforms required (components, data lakes, AWS architecture, etc.).  Payment industry and associated risks knowledge preferred but not required. Ability to apply analytical principles, tools, and techniques required.

What you'll bring

  • 6 or more years of product management experience in the e-commerce, internet, or fintech industries
  • 2 or more years of experience working in the data domain with machine learning teams/scientists; track record of working with AI/ML/Data Science, Engineering, Risk and Legal teams to define, build, and maintain highly scalable, mission-critical systems
  • Full stack knowledge of data pipelines, data modeling life cycle, ML infrastructure and architecture, risk and fraud modelling and controls
  • Strong analytical skills paired with a data-informed mindset; passion for solving problems (large and small) that result in tangible, measurable results; experience using data and metrics to test hypotheses, validate assumptions and measure success 
  • Deep customer empathy and curiosity; deeply understands customer experience and pain points using usability studies, customer interactions, experiments, and aggregated feedback from internal customer facing teams
  • Continuously tests and learns and leverages customer insights to inform product decisions and recommendations
  • Proficient in defining well-thought out user stories, with thorough acceptance criteria and use cases
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; well-honed influencing and negotiating skills; proven ability to handle complex and sensitive situations involving competing priorities

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus
  • 10% or less travel to other locations based on work requirements

How you will lead

  • Leads and drives the strategic vision of the data platform to support building the AI-first global risk platform and policy lifecycle management
  • Owns the short term and long-term roadmap, including managing the ongoing changes to business priorities and engineering operational excellence to ensure on-time delivery
  • Drives merchant and transactional risk execution across all business units within Intuit’s Small Business segment (Payments, Capital, Payroll)
  • Improves performance to plan by identifying, measuring and managing key metrics related to the data delivery model
  • Creates and maintains an optimized and logically sequenced roadmap. Creates and owns the success metrics, dashboards, and delivery. Anticipates and resolves strategic issues that impair the team's ability to deliver
  • Communicates frequently and clearly with other teams and leaders. Ruthlessly prioritizes the team’s backlog and works across teams to drive work in other areas that deliver value for our customers.
