Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (Mailchimp)

Job Overview
Intuit Mailchimp is the leading marketing platform for small businesses. We empower millions of customers around the world to build their brands and grow their companies with a suite of marketing automation, multichannel campaigns, CRM, and analytics tools.
Our ideal candidate is a Frontend / Fullstack technical leader who has experience working in and operating large-scale solutions, plus familiarity with current technology trends and patterns. In addition to technical expertise, you must also be a skilled communicator and collaborator comfortable working across Engineering teams and multiple partner departments.
Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our office two to three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive significant technology initiatives from end-to-end across multiple layers of architecture.
- Architect and develop scalable applications or systems.
- Design and implement durable software solutions that solve critical customer problems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain.
- Provide recommendations and best practices for application development and developer tools.
- Capture requirements and use cases effectively.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, share insights, and experiment with cutting-edge technologies.
- Inspire innovations that contribute to the growth of Intuit as a whole and generate creative ideas for emerging business needs.

- Serve as a technical subject matter expert: mentor fellow engineers, demonstrate technical expertise, and lead a small team through challenging programming and design problems.

- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility.
- Deliver results across cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships.

- Exhibit a "self-starter" attitude and the ability to make independent decisions.
Qualifications
Core Skills:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience.
- Fullstack experience - proficiency in both frontend (React, JavaScript preferred) and backend (Kotlin, Java, Go, PHP preferred) development.
- 8+ years of experience developing systems/software for large business environments.
- 5+ years of experience designing complex systems, management products, or business applications.
- Strong experience in cloud computing environments like AWS/GCP (highly preferred).
- Proficiency in OOD and SOA principles, with the ability to implement them in a preferred language.
- Experience leading the design and implementation of robust, highly scalable services.
- Skilled in software development lifecycle processes with experience in scrum, agile, and iterative approaches.
- Expertise in unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD).
Desired Skills:
- Practical experience developing applications using microservices, container technologies, and container management systems such as Kubernetes, Mesos, etc.
- Strong experience with database design (SQL, NoSQL) and analytics.
- Prior working experience in utility computing and/or the computing domain.
- Experience building and deploying applications and services into various environments.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $191000-258500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
