Job Overview

We are seeking a leader who is fluent in applying strategic thinking to define and accelerate Intuit’s growth trajectory. S/he will be a creative thinker who has demonstrated the ability to “see” the future and drive organizations to capture value in new and emerging business models. The role will drive the end-to-end aspects of creating and evangelizing Intuit's most important strategies in service to delivering on our mission of powering prosperity around the world. Reporting to the SVP of Corporate Strategy and New Business Innovation, this leader will be a key member of Intuit’s strategy leadership team and work closely with Intuit’s most senior leaders and stakeholders to define Intuit's next chapter of growth.

As a leader, you will work closely with key stakeholders to craft strategy recommendations that can be implemented across the organization. The successful candidate will interact with the CEO, product and technology leaders, and M&A/corporate development, along with the executive team to ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.

This is a critical executive position within Intuit. The ideal candidate will operate at a high level of intellectual curiosity, exhibit superior analytical skills, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and bring a proven ability to work with and lead teams. They will have the maturity, confidence, intellectual strengths, and real world experience to lead and inspire a team of smart and driven professionals. This candidate must have a passion for understanding the customers we serve and a passion for our mission of powering prosperity around the world.

Qualifications

  • Specific qualifications include:

    • 10-15+ years of relevant strategy experience; with at least 4+ years of experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm; industry experience preferred
    • Demonstrated thought leadership across strategy both in theory and applied practice
    • Mastery of strategy craft skills (hypothesis driven thinking, project scoping, lean testing, financial and business modeling, strategic option identification, and rigorous data analytics)
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a talented and driven strategy team in the development and execution of strategic initiatives; excellent people development and leadership skills. You have led, developed, and built capabilities in teams and individuals. Able to manage multiple extended or virtual teams
    • Project management experience on an international scale, providing strategic leadership for multiple programs simultaneously in a cross-functional business;
    • Experience in building trusted advisor relationships and influencing others (including C-level executives). Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
    • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate strategy clearly and simply. Ease with executive-level interactions - ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner. Superior written (including strategy narratives/ white papers) and verbal communication skills
    • Possesses confidence and self-awareness with ego in balance
    • Ability to think future forward and reason back; creative and “out of the box” thinking that drives innovation. Ability to “see around corners” and “connect the dots” that enable business to proactively drive business, not just respond to it
    • Relationship management and leadership experience, including working with cross-functional business partners and senior leadership
    • Passion to win: Driving high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment. A mindset of creativity, innovation, calculated risk-taking and energetic drive to succeed
    • Experience with design thinking and lean-startup methodologies
    • Comfort with ambiguity

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Thought Leadership
    • Define and accelerate the company’s top strategic growth priorities
    • Identify secular trends and translates those into implications for Intuit
    • Ensure strategies are grounded in deep customer empathy, grounded in logic, and supported by fact based evidence
    • Bring clarity to ambiguous questions through rigorous analysis; identifying key ‘leap of faith assumptions’ and articulating both green-hat and red-hat scenarios
    • Challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom with fact-based specific, supported reasoned proposals
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and mentor a team of highly talented and driven strategy practitioners; invest in growing the team through regular feedback and ongoing coaching
    • Attract, energize, and retain the best, diverse talent
    • Define success and galvanize the team around it
    • Champion a culture of inclusion and innovation; create a safe, high-trust environment that encourages constructive debate and celebrates risk taking and failures
    • Role model a learning mindset
  • Stakeholder Management and Influence
    • Collaborate with diverse sets of stakeholders to align on and prioritize what's most important
    • Identify critical stakeholders and engage them to shape a shared vision
    • Present verbal and written recommendations; lead discussions with all levels of management including C-level executives and Intuit’s Board of Directors.
    • Draft strategy narratives and white papers in partnership with Intuit’s executive team
    • Take extreme ownership for outcomes and remain engaged with prior efforts to ensure strategies drive desired outcomes; identify pivots as needed

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is CA $299,861 - $405,695. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
