Job Overview
Intuit’s AI Group is looking for innovative and hands-on Staff Data Scientist to focus on Security and Fraud Prevention. Our team leverages Data Mining, Machine Learning and NLP techniques, to develop innovative and state-of-the-art API security technologies aimed at detecting and preventing Fraud across Intuit product offerings.
Your role will range from research experimentalist to technology innovator, to consultative business facilitator. You’ll be building and prototyping algorithms and developing analytical solutions to improve Security and detect Fraud based on API data that represents the collective financial data of 60 million consumers and small businesses. Applications will span multiple business lines, including personal finance, small business accounting, and tax.

Qualifications
- Passionate about data, digging in to get insights and interesting cross-linking
- 5+ years’ Data Science experience, preferably with Fraud, Security or Credit Risk Detection solutions, or equivalent experience as a Security Researcher with some experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
- NLP and sequence-based models - advantage
- BSc, MSc, or PhD in an appropriate technology field (Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Econometrics, Operations Research) or equivalent experience
- Expertise in Data Mining algorithms and Statistical Modeling techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, neural nets, support vector machines, genetic algorithms, anomaly detection, recommender systems, sequential pattern discovery, or text mining
- Expertise in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with big data sets in the security, risk and fraud domains
- Build machine learning models (especially unsupervised) to help safeguard our digital property
- Gain familiarity with existing API security methods
- Gather data, perform statistical analysis, draw conclusions on the impact of your optimizations, and communicate results to peers and leaders
- Lead and innovate AI projects in the Security, Fraud domain and Risk, lead discussions and understand the needs of the project from the business units and be able to integrate your domain knowledge into the algorithms you'll build and implement in production
