Job Overview
Intuit’s Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational leadership. Our team is comprised of finance, accounting, supply chain, corporate strategy & development and tax professionals that support and enhance Intuit's operating efficiencies.
This is an accounting role as a Staff Accountant with the Corporate Accounting organization. Position is located in San Diego, CA. Position will be responsible for revenue accounting entries and related tasks. Successful candidate will be a self-starter with a strong accounting skills and the ability to think and act independently, who will take ownership of their areas of responsibility and demonstrate solid decision making skills and the application of judgment in applying generally accepted accounting principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Background in understanding and applying accounting concepts. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and the testing of supporting documentation.
- Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment with operational and financial personnel
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- End-to-end process orientation with problem solving skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, time prioritization, and ability to multi-task
- Strong PC, worksheet and word processing skills
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Public Accounting experience is desired
- Working knowledge of Oracle, BRM and Qliksense a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare journals entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met. Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded, substantiated, and communicated with stakeholders.
- Continually assess and design desk procedures and process flows. Ensure that these work flows are designed to maximize internal controls and efficiency.
- Applies professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying support and documentation.
- Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management.
- Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.
- Participate in the month and quarter end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
- Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for senior management, prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
- Effectively assess risk over accounts and areas of responsibility. Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact, properly supported, and operating effectively.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is CA $85,745 - $116,009. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
