What you'll bring

  • Extensive experience of progressive accounting experience with the latter part of your career as an Accounting Manager
  • Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and
  • Experience with international local GAAP’s desired
  • Experience with managing statutory filing processes including working with external auditors
  • BS Accounting or related degree and CPA/ACA (or equivalent) qualified, ideally with Big 4 experience or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and ever changing priorities while consistently meeting tight deadlines
  • Experience with accounting for foreign currency and inter-company transactions, including international cost sharing agreements
  • Track record of building high-performing teams
  • Ability to influence people and work with teams across various finance and business functional roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation, and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve
  • Experience working with outside consultants and external auditors to manage international tax and statutory filings
  • Working knowledge of Oracle R12 and Business Objects a plus

How you will lead

This is a manager role within our Global Accounting organization and is located in San Diego, US.  This position will be responsible for organizing and leading members of our International Accounting and Compliance (IAC) team, overseeing accounting & statutory compliance functions for subsidiaries outside of the US. This position will be a key member of our IAC leadership team as we develop the people, processes and technology to support the growth of Intuit around the world.    

 

This position will require strong cross-functional and leadership skills, ability to translate technical literature and accounting/company policy into clear requirements for execution and ongoing maintenance, strong change management skills, and ability to drive issues through to resolution and validation.

 

  • Develop and lead members of the IAC international team
  • Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate US GAAP reporting for non-US subsidiaries
  • Review positions taken for recognition of revenue and ensure accuracy of associated accounting & reporting
  • Drive development of offshore global transactional accounting shared services function
  • Oversee statutory financial and tax return filing processes to ensure compliance with local requirements in each jurisdiction
  • Implement best practices to ensure timely and accurate local statutory reporting, tax (CT & VAT) and other required statutory filings
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, local accounting & tax advisors to ensure efficient delivery of services
  • Drive the development of strategies to improve accounting operations effectiveness, including the development and execution of organizational, process and system changes
  • Implement and maintain the required process and internal control environment, and perform control procedures to ensure subsidiaries are complying with Company policy
  • Ensure that intent of policy matches execution in applicable systems and processes
  • Own technical accounting research into pronouncements and updates under relevant accounting frameworks, ensuring documentation of conclusions in white papers and incorporation into current Company policy as necessary.
  • Business partner with various functions in support of ensuring compliant go to market offerings.
  • Build strong working relationships with entity senior leadership teams to ensure a compliance tone at the top.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to enable growth while managing financial statement risk
  • Apply professional scepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyse the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying accounting principles
  • Work closely with US Corporate Accounting team to ensure effective compliance with policies and procedures
  • Works closely with US Corporate Taxation team on efficient legal entity structuring, transfer pricing & support for regional audits.
  • Support ongoing SOX & SEC reporting requirements as necessary
