Job Overview

We need razor-sharp legal partners to help deliver delightful customer experiences. As a member of the Product Counseling team, you’ll partner with innovative product teams around the world to ensure we can achieve our business strategy and deliver amazing customer benefits while ensuring we stay compliant.
As a core legal partner for Intuit’s Consumer Group, which includes our TurboTax and Credit Karma products, you’ll advise and counsel on a wide variety of matters, including AI/ML, consumer protection, data privacy and data protection, mobile, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate and tech-savvy, with a solid understanding of product compliance as well as artificial intelligence and tech innovation.

Responsibilities
- As a core legal partner and product counsel to Intuit’s Consumer Group, you’ll be challenged to apply your legal expertise across a number of areas, partnering closely with product management, business strategy, engineering, content design, marketing, security, compliance and operations teams, and more.
- You’ll lead day-to-day product and business counseling for TurboTax AI and consumer platform innovation, advising on a variety of cutting edge matters, including AI/ML, data privacy, advertising and marketing, and regulatory compliance.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $205,000 - 277,500, Southern California $194,000 - 262,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
Qualifications
- At least 6-8 years of experience primarily advising technology companies, either at a law firm or in-house
- Significant breadth of knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: consumer protection, AI/ML, advertising and marketing laws, financial services, data privacy and protection, and competition law
- Comfort navigating uncharted areas and balancing risk and opportunity
- Ability to think creatively and enable smart decision-making
- Ability to communicate effectively and counsel business partners about regulatory obligations and risk management
- Ability to produce clear and succinct legal analysis
- Ability to interact with and lead change with senior executive leaders
- Ability to effectively frame issues to drive strategic thinking and execution
- Excellent communication, teaching, and training skills
- Excellent driver and project manager
- Excellent business acumen
- Demonstrated ability to perform with minimal supervision
- Experience providing legal support on a global scale
- JD and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar
