Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With tens of millions of customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

The Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) Sales Tech organization builds the platform and intelligence that powers how Intuit's sellers connect with prospective and existing customers across the full lead-to-cash journey. Everything sellers and AI agents do depends on this platform being fast, trustworthy, and connected. As Intuit's customer base and data volume grow every year, we are investing in the architecture that ties these pillars into one coherent system: a clean, governed data foundation, well-defined platform services and APIs, and seamless interoperability with Salesforce and the broader sales ecosystem. We work in close partnership with Product, Design, Marketing, Sales Operations, and Sales leadership.

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the design and delivery of core services within our agentic AI seller platform and the data and integrations beneath it. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer who can lead a domain end to end, ship production AI capabilities, and raise the engineering bar on their team. You will work alongside Senior Staff and Principal engineers to turn platform strategy into reliable, well-architected systems that sellers and AI agents depend on every day.

Intuit has embraced a hybrid working model and this role will be based out of our Mountain View office, 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate services that are scalable, secure, maintainable, and interoperable across a large ecosystem of systems, including Salesforce and the real-time plus batch data pipelines that feed seller experiences and ML models.
  • Stay deeply hands-on, contributing roughly 70 to 80 percent to development across all phases of the software lifecycle, with the remaining time spent on design, technical alignment, and raising engineering quality.
  • Own complex, ambiguous technical problems within your domain end to end, and drive cross-team dependencies to resolution in partnership with Senior Staff and Principal engineers.
  • Apply and help evolve the technical standards, patterns, and reference architectures your team builds on, and contribute to how we measure the impact, reliability, and safety of AI in production.
  • Ship AI capabilities to production responsibly: implement evaluation, observability, and guardrail mechanisms, and measure impact on performance, seller productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Write clear design documents and communicate technical trade-offs effectively to engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and raise the bar through rigorous code and design reviews.
  • Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI and data landscape, and proactively identify opportunities to apply AI within your domain.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience building web, software, or data-intensive applications, with a track record of leading significant technical workstreams at the senior level or above.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and shipping services within large-scale distributed systems for customer-centric or analytical platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented language (Java/J2EE or C#), and sound design judgment across distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience building and shipping AI/ML capabilities in production, ideally including LLM-based features (retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context engineering, or evaluation frameworks).
  • Ability to influence technical decisions within and across teams, and to communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms, including building seller-facing experiences on top of them.
  • Experience with agent frameworks, model orchestration, vector search, or AI evaluation and observability tooling.
  • Knowledge of SQL in a large-scale data warehouse or lakehouse environment such as Spark, Databricks, or Presto/Athena/Trino.
  • Hands-on data science or machine learning experience.
  • Deep experience with Big Data and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Hive, Spark, Kafka, SQL, SparkSQL, Cassandra, Redshift, GraphDB, Apache Iceberg) and a strong grasp of both real-time and batch processing concepts.
