Job Overview
Intuit’s Small Business and Self-Employed Group (SBSEG) is devoted to creating a portfolio of solutions to meet the needs and improve the chances of success for entrepreneurs. QuickBooks is traditionally known for accounting and bookkeeping products and services. Increasingly, following customer demand and market trends, we are investing in services that help small businesses run their business on the QuickBooks platform. Mailchimp is an email and marketing automations platform for growing businesses. Together, QuickBooks and Mailchimp are a powerful engine for small and mid-market businesses to get, engage, and retain their customers, run their businesses, optimize cash flow and remain compliant.
Part of the Product Marketing team for Mailchimp, the SBSEG Ecosystem Marketing team is responsible for driving cross-platform adoption of QuickBooks and Mailchimp through global product and business model innovation and GTM strategy and execution. We are seeking a seasoned Group Marketing Manager to manage the SBSEG Ecosystem Marketing team. This leader will have a strong track record of succeeding in “player/coach” roles - bringing both strong strategic skills, seamless cross-functional partnership and executive-level influence, inspiring data-driven customer empathy and a bent for speed in action and results.
You will lead a team of product marketers in listening to the market, uncovering consumer insights, identifying opportunities that influence the product roadmap, and developing short and long-term audience relevant go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth and ecosystem adoption. You’ll partner closely with the larger QuickBooks and Mailchimp Marketing teams as well as Product, Research, Analytics, Sales, and others. To be successful you will bring a mix of strategic vision, communication skills, collaborative mindset, and product launch experience - having worked in highly cross-functional, dynamic environments crafted to move with velocity.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years Experience: 10+ years of business experience in product marketing within SaaS/Technology companies.
- Product Marketing Craft Expertise: Proven expertise in product marketing with a track record of successfully commercializing new offerings - defining the offering strategy, business model, messaging and positioning, and GTM plans. Small business experience is a plus.
- Customer-Obsessed: Leads with customer insights, obsessively seeks new insights that result in action, and advocates internally and externally on behalf of our customers.
- Strategic and Analytical: Experience with consumer research and data, including qualitative and quantitative testing. Ability to quickly analyze and synthesize data from a variety of sources and distill into clear, concise recommendations for an executive audience. Proven ability to leverage data to measure marketing performance, inform growth opportunities and business case development.
- Compelling Storyteller: Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and facilitation skills to drive speed, engagement, clarity, and action. Ability to make the complex simple and convince peers and executives to take action.
- Intellectually Curious Risk-Taker: Understands the importance of trying and failing and encourages hypothesis-driven experimentation.
- Collaborator & Influencer: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills in a cross-functional, fast-moving environment. Ability to interact with colleagues of all levels in a peer-like way. Build and maintain positive relationships between sometimes vastly different departments with competing priorities.
- Self-Starter: Demonstrated track record of self motivation and willingness to proactively and independently take on leadership roles in projects, prioritize what matters, and manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Versatile Do-er: Forward-thinking leader with the ability to problem solve with ambiguity, drive data-based decisions and own outcomes, and roll up their sleeves to execute.
- People Leader: Proven people leader experience managing and developing a team of direct reports. Demonstrated success in recruiting, building and leading high-performing teams.
- BA/BS required or equivalent work experience, MBA preferred.
Responsibilities
- 1-Year Business Planning: Own the 1-year marketing plan, including strategic choices about where to play and how to win.
- New Offering Commercialization: Lead the commercial qualification for new ecosystem offerings by defining the market opportunity, customer segments to serve, core value propositions, and business models that will be competitive for the markets they serve. Drive lean testing of the new services to measure and validate customer demand and revenue potential.
- Better Together Value Propositions: Craft differentiated, insights based better together value propositions for QuickBooks & Mailchimp integration offerings.
- Learning Plan Development: Develop research and testing plans and actively analyze business data from multiple sources to generate insights, build business cases, and make informed decisions that drive business results.
- Strategic Priority Development: Translate insights into impact by identifying the critical few priorities that unlock growth opportunities; develop business cases and execute activation plans.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Partner deeply cross-functionally to influence the product and marketing roadmaps and execute awesome end-to-end customer experiences with Product Management, Research, Analytics, Acquisition, Customer Success, Sales, Partnerships, Lifecycle Marketing, and others.
- QuickBooks & Mailchimp Co-Marketing GTM Plans: Develop and execute joint marketing plans in collaboration with the QuickBooks marketing partners to meet and exceed our short and long term business goals.
- Messaging & Claims Development: Create and deploy differentiated, insights-based messaging and claims in partnership with Market Research, Design and Legal.
- People Leader: Manage and coach a team of product marketing managers; contribute to a high-performing culture by sharing and mentoring go-to-market best practices that up-level the team’s marketing craft.
- Culture Ambassador: Craft a fun, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is New York $186,000 - $252,000, Bay Area California $201,000 - 271,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
