Job Overview
Join the Virtual Expert Platform organization as a Principal Software Engineer / Solutions Architect.Come join Intuit as a Principal Engineer on the Virtual Expert Platform team! You’ll be leading mission critical business initiatives to connect customers with experts that serve several Intuits products and millions of users. This role will span across multiple capability teams driving the delivery of business solutions. You will quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player. This requires more builders who can rapidly apply AI and emerging technologies to solve our customers’ problems.At Intuit, Principal Engineers are expected to work in ambiguity and not shy away from tackling technical debt. They are intentional about measuring the impact of changes they facilitate to both the business and the customers they serve. They are proactive about helping engineers grow and are a force multiplier, leveling up those around them.
Responsibilities
● Drive significant business initiatives end to end and across multiple domains / capabilities.● Drive design and implementation of business solutions that solves critical customer problems.● Drive overall solution architecture, deliver technical designs, and phased roadmaps.● Build deep relationships with product & technology leaders and domain architects.● Work with cross-functional team members to develop, test, and release solutions.● Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support.● Passionate for continuous learning, experimenting and applying software paradigms.● Pursue and resolve complex or unchartered technical problems and share key learnings.● Apply your experience and innovation to generate creative ideas for emerging business needs.● Apply your learnings from business to drive technology driven innovation across capabilities.● Coach and mentor other engineers in process and methodologies.● Provide perspective on industry trends, recommendations on new and emerging technologies.● Driving for results across cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships
Qualifications
● BS/MS in Computer Science or related area.● 8+ years of experience developing solutions for large business environments.● 5+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems.● Solid design and coding skills (Java, J2EE, PHP, Ruby, Perl, XML, REST, SOAP, JSON).● Strong experience leading design and implementation of robust and highly scalable products.● Skilled in software development lifecycle processes.● Experience with SCRUM, Agile and iterative approaches a plus● Operate at varying levels of abstraction across business, product, and technology.● Synthesize solutions from diverse inputs, drive build / buy / partner decisions.● Prior working experience as a solutions architect in a complex environment is highly desired.
