Intuit’s Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational leadership. Our team is comprised of finance, accounting, supply chain, corporate strategy & development and tax professionals that support and enhance Intuit's operating efficiencies

This is not an IT role. This is a finance functional role in the Finance Digital Transformation and Governance (FDTG) team, within the Controllership, Assurance & Operations (CAO) organization. As an individual contributor, this position will interface between technology teams and finance process owners to review testing execution evidence, ensuring conformity to finance requirements. In addition, the role will act as a bridge between tech and finance teams to provide change management support for new initiatives, co-ordinate User Acceptance Testing with process owners and to manage offer onboarding testing reviews (OOT), as it relates to finance systems changes. The BSA in this role will be systems savvy to understand the development lifecycle of back office billing and revenue systems, various systems capabilities, validate solutions, assess impact to finance processes and communicate with updates to the finance leadership, while managing risks to launch.

The position will require strong cross-functional skills with a point of view that operates at a consistent quality and standard considering existing system architecture and design decisions, existing and future processes, inherent risks, and implications to finance process owners. Primary systems in focus for this position are Item design systems, Billing and Revenue systems, Oracle eBusiness Suite and Revshare platform.

The individual in this role must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Quote to Cash and Revenue systems, strong project management skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exceptional change management and communication skills. This individual must demonstrate good business sense, use data to drive decisions, be an independent thinker, team player and a trusted partner. Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of teams, communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, skill with quantitative/qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, ability to quickly research, understand and document new processes and requirements are foundational needs for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Deliverables:

Finance Requirements Document – Ability to review and understand Finance requirements document drafted by Finance Functional leads. Tie complex finance requirements to system behavior and understand solution implications. Attend requirements gathering sessions, draft and deliver complete and accurate finance requirements documents, signed off by process owners being represented.

 

Solution Review and Signoff – Able to validate finance systems solutions presented by tech teams to be able to perform traceability to finance requirements and leverage understanding of the solution to prepare test case list and validate solution through review of testing evidence provided by tech teams. Should be able to influence testing evidence gathering and quality of evidence documentation Provide a point of view on system design, gaps and deferrals with inputs on prioritization and manual workarounds.

 

Testing - Align on testing approach and scenarios with tech teams, a view towards financial risks mitigation and testing the solution for finance requirements. Validate testing evidence for accuracy of accounting results, as needed. Lead User Acceptance Testing coordination with process owners.

 

Change management - drive overall change management, communication and training to accounting process owners throughout the software lifecycle development process; goal is ‘no surprises’ for our stakeholders. Co-ordinate UAT and OOT between tech and finance process owners.

 

Release/ Issues Management – Have a risk based review of monthly system releases, identify system issues with a point of view on financial risk and manage prioritization of backlog items and defects for resolution.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree with minimum of 7-10 years of functional finance/business systems experience or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • At least five to seven years of Billing, Quote to Cash, Revenue, Accounting, Financial system implementation experience, with experience on solution review and testing validation as a functional lead. Experience training contract workers is a plus.
  • Experience on Oracle BRM, RevStream, Partner Revshare systems and Oracle R12 or similar systems (such as Zuora, Billing Platform, Oracle Revenue Cloud etc.) preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Skills particularly important to success are-

  • Finance domain knowledge. Adequate understanding of AR, Revenue and Deferred revenue accounting and associated transactional flows, and ability to learn finance concepts/requirements.
  • Strong “systems and process orientation” with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem solving skills
  • Project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve
  • Able to speak “finance” and “technical” languages for the right audiences
  • Ability to influence people and directly /indirectly manage a team of people to ensure the effective execution of complex initiatives
  • Ability to navigate complexity well and demonstrated experience managing across functions to accomplish large scale goals
  • Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and willing to voice their opinion
  • Must be savvy to understand both business/accounting needs and the technologies to implement them
  • Have experience identifying systemic and process risks and how to mitigate those discoveries
