Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our Platform and Development Acceleration (PDX) organization. This role will focus on building our next-generation AI-native development platform named Modern SaaS AIR. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in open-source technologies, specifically real-time data processing, and AI analytics using Rust, Golang, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and AWS. Responsibilities


  • Lead the end-to-end capability development for an open-source real-time data processing and AI analytics product.

  • Serve as a technical leader and domain expert, influencing technology and product direction.

  • Drive and collaborate on design and architecture, ensuring effective planning and high-quality execution through all project phases.

  • Develop and maintain scalable and efficient code, adhering to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and adjacent teams to ideate and solve complex problems together.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging exploration of new ideas and technologies.

  • Mentor and assess engineers, fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented team environment.

  • Stay current with developments in the Kubernetes ecosystem and explore new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve the platform's functionality and performance

  • Ensure operational excellence, designing for low MTTD/MTTR, HADR & fast recovery/self healing.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity with minimal guidance.

  • Proficient in Rust, Golang, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and AWS.

  • Expertise in Kubernetes (specifically Amazon EKS) - Operator pattern, Kubernetes clients, Kubernetes controllers, shared informers, cache etc

  • Expertise in real-time data processing technologies

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and logging tools and techniques

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale projects and driving technical decisions.

  • Strong understanding of design patterns, API design, data modeling, and operational planning.

  • Experience with performance, load, and failure mode testing and resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle incident management and operational escalations.

  • A commitment to writing high-quality code and improving existing codebases.

  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

  • Passion for delivering solutions that delight customers and meeting high standards in service reliability and efficiency.
