Job Overview

The Senior International Procurement Manager will play a key role in leading Procurement’s end to end functional transformation, with a focus on strategy, data, and analytics to identify new sources and models that support and accelerate international growth both in existing and new markets.  It will include reimagining procurement’s data strategy and governance, processes and systems landscape, and enabling the function to accelerate Intuit’s growth. This role will be part of the team overseeing the execution of purchase requisitions in support of international global sourcing activities and initiatives across one or more categories in Marketing, Services, and or Technology. With an annual spend of approximately $500M+, the Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for the execution of sourcing strategies and managing relationships with key Intuit business owners and suppliers.

Key responsibilities of this role include working within the GBS team and in defining Procurement’s international transformational strategy, accelerating procurement’s standardization of processes and operating model, identifying margin enhancement opportunities for Intuit through advanced analytics and data-driven insights, driving better and faster functional decision making, automating Procurement’s transactional and operational processes, enhancing end user experience on procurement processes, increasing overall functional productivity through adoption of new technologies, and understanding established and emerging procurement platforms, processes, and operating frameworks, as well as the potential functional applications of emerging technologies.

This role will serve as a contact point responsible for building and managing partnerships with key Intuit business owners and suppliers and will be required to execute/identify global strategic sourcing initiatives, drive cost efficacy, identify and impact efficiencies that support growth strategies within the respective departments supported.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing/Procurement Process Execution and Project Management

  • Provide category expertise and leverage that understanding to determine potential sources of supply, determine capabilities of suppliers’ product and service offerings, and relate offerings to stakeholder needs
  • Determine the right sourcing process considering bidding approach, formal and informal negotiations, and structure process to resolve conflicts and build consensus
  • Drive project activity across several cross-functional team through communication of expectations, decisions, changes, enforcement of deadlines, and creation and evaluation of deliverables
  • Define data needed to meet objectives and develop an effective plan for gathering it (including spend, contracts, supplier information, stakeholder insights, current state process & tools)
  • Utilize analysis to solve business problems. Draw conclusions and insights that are not immediately obvious
  • Gather, analyze, and document requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
  • Lead and Manage RFI/RFQ/RFPs from start to finish, which includes creation, issuance, and facilitation of the entire process, through vendor evaluations (using scorecards) and vendor selection
  • Direct the negotiation of medium complexity, enterprise-wide, strategic supplier partners
  • Manage issues & risks and communicate to management. Consult with senior management and project management experts as needed. Facilitate communication between project team and stakeholders
  • Drive consensus across critical business decisions that are complex and high impact to the organization
  • Create supporting documentation to applicable standards such that the value generated can be included in executive-level presentations
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the delivery of the required programs and initiatives, including interdependencies with big enterprise programs.
  • Develop contingency plans and strategies to ensure business continuity in case of disruptions or shortfalls.

 Transformational Excellence:

 

  • Define Procurement’s Transformational strategy, including roadmap, detailed business cases, detailed implementation plans, interdependencies, opportunities and risks with big enterprise programs.
  • Accelerate procurement’s standardization of processes and operating model to drive new ways of working for the function.
  • Identify margin enhancement opportunities for Intuit through advanced analytics and data driven insights on the 3rd party spend and internal and external vendor data managed through procurement, including relevant use cases.
  • Drive better and faster functional decision making.
  • Automate Procurement’s transactional and operational processes to execute those processes and activities.
  • Enhancing end user experience on procurement processes, including self-service opportunities.
  • Increase overall functional productivity through adoption of new technologies (i.e. definition of Gen AI use cases for procurement).
  • Understand established and emerging procurement platforms, processes, and operating frameworks, as well as the potential functional applications of emerging technologies.
  • Lead and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Drive successful implementation and adoption of the relevant solutions as per defined roadmaps and plans.
  • Drive seamless integration of the required new systems, solutions, programs, and initiatives for procurement to be able to transform and operate effectively.
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of procurement’s data strategy and governance, processes and systems.
  • Develop and manage metrics to track and report on the performance of defined programs and initiatives as per the functional strategy and roadmaps.

 Leadership

  • Lead projects or is a key contributor to projects that require strategy, planning and execution of standard purchase requisitions and some strategic sourcing projects
  • Direct, define, and process purchase requisitions that align with sourcing strategies and initiatives to drive the delivery of corporate earnings, growth strategy, and business transformation objectives for responsible categories
  • Contribute suggestions to assist management in the development of tower strategy and operational roadmap
  • Contribute ideas and feedback on purchase requisitions as related to daily processes and execution as well as the identification of strategic opportunities
  • Executes plans to achieve team’s strategic priorities, goals and objectives planning projects accordingly
  • Proactively builds relationships with and influences stakeholders
  • Collaborates with procurement team where applicable to ensure sourced supplier is setup for ongoing procurement
  • Engages with several stakeholders at all levels, primarily Manager and above
  • Demonstrate and practice a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activities

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals is required.
  • Experience in successfully implementing process improvements and new technologies in organizations is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to build and maintain robust relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytics, data science methodologies, and relevant technologies is required, along with familiarity with varying systems (e.g., Coupa, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong data analysis skills are essential, leveraging data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • An innovative mindset with a passion for staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies is crucial.
  • Proven Experience: Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a strong focus on digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Leadership Skills:Demonstrated ability to work with diverse global teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of advanced analytics, procurement technologies, and digital tools that enhance procurement processes.

  • Relevant industry experience
  • Experience with ERP and Source-to-Pay tools
  • Experience developing and/or presenting business cases
  • 7-10 years of sourcing experience (e.g., RFI/RFQ/RFP, reverse auctions, interests-based direct negotiations)
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers
  • Experience in contract development, administration, and/or management
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in negotiating deals with global vendors
  • Experience in managing global vendor relationships
  • Solid financial and/or quantitative modeling
  • Comfort with written and verbal communication of quantitative and qualitative information with executives
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Availability to directly support and interact with multiple local/international business units

 Desired skills:

  • Experience in Fintech or fast-moving consumer goods industry preferred.
  • A background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and blockchain in procurement or supply chain contexts.
  • A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements; ability to influence and drive change while building solid relationships with your internal clients and external vendors
  • Internal or external business consulting experience highly desired
  • Knowledge and interest in key sourcing areas such as:

  •  Knowledge of global supply base
  • Strong analytical skills; MS Excel proficient; financial modeling preferred

  • Ability to work independently as well as lead and participate in cross functional teams
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Awareness of best practices regarding vendor management (e.g., strategic alliances, supplier certification, etc.)
