Job Overview

We are looking for creative problem solvers with a passion for tackling tough customer problems to join our team and serve as a program leader, with responsibility for delivering our most critical change-the-business outcomes. We would love to have you join our team if you’re passionate about leading enterprise HR tech initiatives at a scale that can help transform Intuit’s enterprise HR tech tech stack.

The role is responsible for stewarding strategic internal HR tech platform initiatives and driving the delivery of transformational change by providing leadership and direction to the management of Intuit’s highest priority initiatives in HR tech. This role helps accelerate business transformation in a way that enables Intuit to deliver the most efficient and flexible HR technologies and user experiences. This role has significant executive leadership visibility.

Responsibilities

What you’ll bring…

  • Strong Program Management leadership experience, including 10+ years planning and leading a strategy and portfolio of programs and/or extremely large complex programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the VP level and above within a matrixed environment.
  • Expertise in Workday (and Workday Extend), Avature, Radancy, related enterprise HR platforms. Also other enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow or Salesforce.
  • Project/program framework best practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of software development approaches, architecture, and lifecycles. Experience with Agile methodologies is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across teams in delivering the best outcome of programs.
  • Computer science or other technical education or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Agile training and experience preferred.

Qualifications

  1. How you will lead…

    Focus strategically

    • You’ll have autonomy to work collaboratively with VP+  leaders in your space to drive the project/program and overall Intuit strategy to accelerate the most strategic business outcomes.

    • Understand industry trends, Intuit strategy and how the program fits into the overall strategy.
    • Identify when a decision or tradeoff is needed, drive discussions, assess options, and provide principled and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders for final decision.

    Lead change

    • Generate broad executive level support for the program/portfolio.
    • Partner with leadership to create a culture where teams are encouraged to share information, constructively debate and communicate freely.
    • Evangelize change and contribute to the development of a high performing team.
    • Establish mechanisms to maintain a pulse on the organization during change, identifying themes and areas of friction, and work with leadership to develop action plans.

    Enable scale

    • Define and implement program/portfolio framework best practices that are repeatable and embody continuous improvement.
    • Drive areas of improvement across the project/program and work with stakeholders to implement to enable cross-Intuit acceleration.
    • Drive the development of the project/program management craft and demonstrate thought leadership within the community.
    • Coach and mentor program managers to grow their skills.

    Domain expertise

    • Navigate many different program areas with ease, drawing from experience to accelerate outcomes, predict challenges, and prevent failures.
    • Apply your expertise in software development approach appropriate and SDLC methodologies to programs and deliver on engineering and operational excellence.
    • Identify and leverage expertise in others to reach solutions.

    Deliver programs

    • Develop and execute against a high quality plan that is organized into manageable pieces that can be individually owned.
    • Use data to assess outcomes and progress to plan, and use independent judgment to provide insights and communicate to stakeholders.
    • Establish mechanisms for the team to identify risks and issues, and present recommended response plans to stakeholders.

Required Skills

  1. Create and maintain detailed project plans that outline project scope, technical vision, and both technical and non-technical requirements, while documenting precise program requirements, using Smartsheet, Google Docs & Sheets.
  2. Monitor program timelines, potential risks, and issues during all stages including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation using tools like JIRA, Smartsheet, Confluence, and Google Sheets to ensure adherence to milestones and deliverables, and to formulate a response strategy when necessary.
  3. Employ common tools like Slack, Microsoft Outlook, and Zoom for effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  4. Leverage a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing strategies, QA, and change management best practices to accelerate the delivery of key programs.
  5. Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and critical dependencies.
  6. Extensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle so as to be able to anticipate potential issues and solutions that require Strong experience with E2E testing, UAT, and regression testing.
