Job Overview

Design Technology lives at the intersection of technology-driven innovation and human-centric design. Design Technologists in the QuickBooks Design Systems group inspire, provoke, disrupt, and push the boundaries of what’s possible by applying design principles to the latest technologies. We use technical skills to elevate design through provocations, ideal state prototypes, front-end code, motion design, and developing new tools. As a Design Technologist at Intuit you will help craft processes, define strategy, curate, and ensure execution of micro-interactions and animations. Design Technologists are an essential bridge from design to engineering, ensuring cohesive and premium visual and motion design for signature QuickBooks experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Inspiring and influencing others to aim for bigger, bolder, and smarter
  • Developing functional prototypes to prove out concepts, test with users, and influence development teams and senior leadership
  • Customer-centered design and understanding users’ context and needs
  • Collaborating with designers, product managers, and developers
  • Iterative, experiment-driven development
  • Tackling challenging problems independently
  • Communicating and presenting to bring the team along on your journey

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in design technology, UX engineering, web development, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to lead major prototyping and motion efforts within the organization.
  • Proven track record in pushing the boundaries of user interface design through experimentation, developing new tools and processes, and partnering with design, engineering, data science, and research teams.
  • A strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends.
  • Organized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely manner
  • Strong sense of design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
  • Strong experience in modern JavaScript technologies, and/or native iOS or Android development
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
  • Bonus if you have experience with After Effects, Premiere, Javascript animation libraries like Lottie or GSAP, or 3D Modeler/Animation.
