We partner closely with Tech Communications and Strategic Narratives to deliver effective communication, learning experiences, and a consistent PDX employee journey.

We are seeking a Staff Business Operations Manager with a focus on Communications and Learning & Development to lead execution of PDX’s internal communication channels, accelerate organizational learning, and support major PDX-wide events and operating rhythms. This role blends strong program management, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for org acceleration—playing a critical role in keeping PDX informed, aligned, skilled, and growing.

Responsibilities

Internal Communications & Channels

  • Own execution and maintenance of PDX internal communication channels, including Slack channels, the PDX website, resource libraries, and org charts.

  • Translate complex operational, technical, or performance information into clear, concise internal communications for broad PDX audiences.

  • Partner closely with Tech Communications and Strategic Narratives to ensure content quality, alignment, and connection to broader Tech/Intuit communications.

Learning & Development (Org Acceleration)

  • Design, implement, and manage internal learning and development programs for PDX employees that support onboarding, operational excellence, and ongoing skill development.

  • Drive learning & growth initiatives, including mentorship programs, manager community offerings, and customer empathy events (guest speakers, trainings, workshops).

  • Accelerate AI adoption across PDX by integrating AI tools, education, and workflows into communication and learning programs.

  • Support builder culture onboarding by creating clear pathways for new hires to understand PDX, how we operate, and how to contribute quickly and effectively.

Operating Mechanisms & Program Management

  • Support communication planning and delivery for PDX-wide events such as All Teams Meetings, Global Engineering Days, Excellence Awards, and SLT/ELT engagements.

  • Drive communication and learning workback plans across PDX operating mechanisms by coordinating with TPMs, People & Culture, EABPs, and cross-functional partners.

  • Lead and support operational programs end-to-end, including defining objectives, managing timelines, preparing materials, and coordinating stakeholders.

  • Support PDX community initiatives focused on connection, growth, and engagement (e.g., Manager Community, People & Culture initiatives, onboarding experiences).

Continuous Improvement & AI Enablement

  • Monitor communication and learning program effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and delivery.

  • Leverage GenAI tools to streamline content creation, enhance communication workflows, support training development, and accelerate the speed of information flow across PDX.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6–8+ years of experience in Business Operations, Program Management, Internal Communications, Learning & Development, or similar roles.

  • Proven experience managing internal communication channels at scale.

  • Experience designing or supporting training, onboarding, or capability-building programs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.

  • Strong program management skills with experience owning workback plans, cadences, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Experience operating in matrixed environments with multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a bias for action.

Preferred

  • Experience within PDX, Intuit, or within a large technical organization.

  • Familiarity with Slack Canvas, microsites, and enterprise communication platforms.

  • Experience preparing content for leaders and large-audience internal events.

  • Experience supporting or managing learning and development initiatives, manager enablement, or technical onboarding programs.
