This role joins the Global Safety and Security team as a Manager 2, Regional Safety and Security Manager US and Canada.
What you’ll do:
As the Regional Safety and Security Manager, you will step into a pivotal role as an operational leader within Intuit's Safety and Security team. Your core mission will be to execute all activities for the safety and security of Intuit sites and employees across the United States and Canada. You will report to the Global Safety and Security Operations Manager, providing leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for a dedicated team of contracted security personnel. This role demands both tactical and long-term vision.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Provide leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for a dedicated team of contracted security personnel, guiding their operational effectiveness and development.
- Be responsible for assessing and understanding operational needs, developing, communicating, and implementing strategies that deliver tangible, value-added results, including identifying long-term organizational, policy/procedure, and capital enhancement needs.
- Safety & Security Management:
- Execute all activities for the safety and security of Intuit sites and employees across the United States and Canada, which involves overseeing workplace safety and security.
- Implement proactive risk mitigation efforts to identify and mitigate all manner of risks and threats to Intuit properties, assets, and personnel, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Employee Well-being & Safety Experience:
- Foster a positive and secure work environment that enhances employee satisfaction and engagement by prioritizing their safety and well-being within Intuit's spaces.
- Support and execute a data-driven safety and security operations approach focused on enabling the success of individuals and teams who utilize spaces, ensuring security protocols contribute to a safe and productive environment.
- Safety and Security Partnerships:
- Work in extremely close coordination with all relevant stakeholders for safety and physical security initiatives and the reduction of exposure through systemic application of preventive measures within Intuit spaces.
- Provide safety and security insights for optimizing space utilization, office layouts, and planning for office relocations, expansions, or redesigns to ensure integrated safety and security protocols and business growth support.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Develop strong working relationships and routinely collaborate with a wide range of internal partners such as Human Resources, Legal, Employee Relations/Labor Relations, Public Affairs, Information Security, Corporate Ethics and Investigations, and Corporate Risk as required.
- Coordinate effectively with external Federal, State, and Local law enforcement partners to align security efforts with broader objectives and address potential threats.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management & Communication:
- Conduct analytical assessment, reporting, and communicating vital information to senior and executive leadership regarding security operations, incidents, and potential strategic opportunities.
- Manage critical incidents, which may require occasional phone/email communications during off hours, ensuring timely and effective communication with all affected stakeholders.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify long-term organizational, policy/procedure, and capital enhancement needs to develop strategic plans for continuous improvement in security operations and technology.
- Explore and implement innovative technologies and solutions to improve workplace security efficiency and effectiveness, staying abreast of industry best practices in physical security systems.
- Budget & Financial Stewardship:
- Oversee and control costs through diligent monitoring of expenditures and labor utilization to meet security financial targets.
- Develop strategic plans to secure executive approvals, define objectives, acquire necessary resources, and execute stated milestones while managing budgets effectively.
- Vendor & Partner Oversight:
- Manage performance and development for contract security services, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external partners like contractors and suppliers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Provide operational oversight of two Global Security Operation Centers located in the United States, including managing contract security personnel and their operations.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years, or 7-10+ years, of experience in positions of increasing responsibility related to applicable physical security operational disciplines or protective disciplines, including corporate security, military, or law enforcement experience.
- Expertise in all aspects of a Global Security Operation Center’s functions.
- Background and professional training in operations, physical security/threat assessment work, protective intelligence, global security operations centers, technology, safety, event and/or travel security, including investigative work in compliance with NIST, ISO, and industry best practices.
- Preferred Qualifications include: Project management experience, Security vendor management experience, Significant budget creation and management or experience with budget creation and management, and Extensive development and use of metrics for the evaluation of programs/initiatives.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with professional security organizations such as ASIS, OSAC, DRI, ISSACA, etc. Any certification is a bonus, but not required.
- Strong skills in AI tools and adapt quickly to the use of those tools to enhance efficiency and speed to delivery.
- Exceptional analytical, verbal/written communications, presentation and organizational management skills.
- Core understanding and implementation of physical security information management systems, including but not limited to digital surveillance, electronic access control, alarm management, investigations, and reporting systems.
- Ability to be highly collaborative, work across organizations, have flexibility, be forward thinking, and possess a Day 1 mindset when reviewing existing and future initiatives.
- Proficiency in all types of computer software and platforms, specifically including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Education:
- Required Education: An A/B.S. degree in a field of study in security management, criminology, or a related security industry field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Education: An A./M.S. degree in a field of study in security management, criminology, or a related security industry field.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $155,000 - 209,500, Southern California $145,600 - 198,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
