Intuit TurboTax is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial Staff Data Scientist to join our Assisted Growth Data Science team. This team is responsible for driving top-of-funnel growth across all Assisted offerings, including TurboTax Full Service, TurboTax Live Assisted, TurboTax Business Tax Live Assisted, and TurboTax Business Tax Full Service. As a Staff Data Scientist, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the growth strategy by providing deep insights, building advanced models, and developing scalable experimentation frameworks. You'll partner closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Expert Network, Sales, Finance, and more—acting as the connective tissue across a complex and rapidly evolving ecosystem. Responsibilities

1. Drive Business Strategy through Data - Translate business problems into analytical frameworks. Connect data across multiple functions to drive actionable recommendations and strategic growth opportunities for the Assisted ecosystem.2. Build & Operationalize Advanced Models - Develop and deploy machine learning models and statistical frameworks to forecast growth, uncover patterns, and optimize decision-making across Assisted offerings.3. Experimentation & Causal Inference - Design, run, and analyze A/B tests and quasi-experiments using methodologies such as synthetic control, regression discontinuity, or propensity score matching to establish causal relationships and measure impact.

4. Cross-Functional Influence - Serve as the strategic data science partner to leaders across Marketing, Product, and Sales. Communicate complex findings clearly and concisely to drive alignment and action.5. Data Infrastructure & Governance - Partner with data engineering and platform teams to ensure reliable, scalable data pipelines and tracking instrumentation are in place. Champion data hygiene and integrity.6. Insights at Scale - Create dashboards, visualizations, and self-serve tools to democratize access to insights across cross-functional teams and leadership.7. Mentorship & Thought Leadership - Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, set best practices, and contribute to a high-performance data culture. Author whitepapers and thought leadership pieces to guide long-term direction.

Qualifications

1. 7+ years of experience in product, growth, marketing, or business analytics/data science roles, ideally in a consumer tech or SaaS environment.2. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong foundation in statistical analysis, causal inference, and experimental design.3. Proven ability to influence product and marketing strategy using data-driven recommendations.

4. Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Looker; familiarity with Spark, dbt, or similar data tools is a plus.5. Experience in top-of-funnel optimization, including marketing attribution, customer segmentation, and conversion rate analysis.6. Strong business acumen and communication skills; able to simplify the complex and deliver compelling narratives to stakeholders at all levels.7. Experience working in matrixed organizations and collaborating across diverse teams such as Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.8. M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research) or equivalent work experience.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $186,500-252,000, Southern California $179,000-242,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
