As the Head of Design, you will oversee the User Experience design vision, strategy and execution.  You will participate in business strategy, customer insights, product concepting and execution, and working across all functions to deliver amazing products for millions of Canadians.  You will bring a clear focus on speed and innovation, the latest in AI first experience design techniques and a strong data backed foundation. You live in the future and work with a sense of urgency while sweating the details.  You will focus on the biggest customer problems and drive step changes in our experiences to delight customers. 

You will lead and grow a stellar team of full stack content and UX designers to deliver a modern, AI first Tax and financial ecosystem. You thrive in leading and mentoring a team of talented interaction, visual, content designers and researchers; focusing on delivering full end to end strategies, ensuring highly curated design experiences, while keeping a keen focus on the career growth and development of designers and leading the charge to celebrate wins and savour the learnings, regardless of the outcome. 

This is a leadership position, sitting on the Canadian Senior Leadership team as well as the US Design Leadership team.  You will be integral to overall business strategy, customer insights, product concepting and execution, and working across all functions to deliver a future vision for amazing products for Canadians. Responsibilities

As a Business Leader:

  • Collaborate effectively with other functions in the organization - Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Customer Success and be the accountable design leader of all customer-facing experiences
  • Partner with your leader partners across Product, Marketing, PD, Data Analytics and Customer success to leverage design as a thought leader in strategic innovationBe a futurist, product visionary and a change agent. 
  • Understand and balance the customer and business needs to drive cross-functional partnership, collaboration and decision making.

As a People Leader:

  • Manage and mentor your team to grow their careers and increase design and customer-back thinking and rigour
  • Inspire employees through clearly communicating design direction, intent and methods as well as customer-centricity
  • Be a driver for hiring and growing best in class awesome talent and continually setting the foundation for a collaborative and passionate team!

As a Product Leader,

  • Lead design projects of significant E2E (end-to-end) scope, complexity and responsibility in creative vision, strategy and execution
  • Contribute to the creative culture of the design team through design critique, mentoring/coaching designers, and fostering a highly collaborative/creative environment.
  • Work closely with other global Intuit teams, ensuring world class design quality end to end, across all design competencies, e.g., visual, content, motion, interaction design, design prototyping and design research.
  • Represent Intuit’s design culture and customer driven methods inside and outside of Intuit
  • Leverage AI to create the Tax and Money products of the future.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Product or Graphic Design or equivalent experience, preference for experience designing AI experiences. 
  • 15+ years’ experience designing and delivering products/ services
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading design teams
  • Deep knowledge of user centric design methods of innovation and ideation
  • Knowledge of web and mobile technologies and their impact on the feasibility of a design
  • Knowledge of service design~ and how to effectively build services that improve the quality and the interaction between the service provider and customers.
  • Strong skills in communication (written, verbal, and visual), influence and persuasion
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English (French is a plus)
