Job Overview

Be the design champion on TurboTax’s business tax product, and create end-to-end experiences for consumers. In this role, you will be helping craft the design strategy and execution of the next evolution of tax prep through innovation and design craft to help our customers grow and thrive. You’ll work across functions, teams, and business units to create intuitive and scalable platform experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design efforts and strategy for the Turbotax business tax product from concept to code
  • Collaborate with the design team and our partners in development, product management, data, service, and marketing to ensure problems and interdependencies are holistically understood and solved from an ecosystem perspective
  • Deliver multiple projects simultaneously through robust communication, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Participate in (and help craft) extensive customer research to identify insights that will ultimately provide customer value and delight
  • Leverage iterative prototyping to quickly test concepts and learn from customers
  • Drive design decisions through data by partnering with our analytics team
  • Participate in and promote a culture of detailed feedback rooted in first principles, design rationale, customer data, and industry best practices
  • Assess and account for up and downstream impacts of new product releases through a strong understanding of information architecture
  • Effectively present and communicate your designs and rationale to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management
  • Provide mentorship to co-ops and junior designers from a craft, and cross-discipline partnership perspective
  • Create and iterate on service blueprints, to ensure customers are getting the best possible experience

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing complex products with cross-product interdependencies.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design and UX principles.
  • Experience facilitating design thinking workshops and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • End-to-end product design experience, from concept through to implementation.
  • Stakeholder management and ability to navigate multiple PMs and teams.
  • Comfort with user research methodologies, both generative and evaluative.
  • Prototyping skills to test and iterate on designs.
  • Ability to collaborate with researchers to validate concepts and user flows.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in consumer brands, data, or fintech products is highly desirable.
  • Experience with service design and customer journey mapping.
  • Understanding of business strategy and eCommerce products.
  • Experience with video and motion design, and an understanding of front-end development concepts.
