As Senior Staff Designer on Expert Ops and Management, you'll lead the strategic vision and execution of this disruptive offering, enabling business leaders to staff effectively, anticipate changes, and optimize for growth. We're seeking a designer ready to lead large-scale system design projects with strategic thinking. Intuit's Virtual Expert Platform combines artificial intelligence and a network of professionals to empower users in their financial choices. The Senior Staff Designer will spearhead the strategic development and implementation of this platform, enabling business leaders to optimize team structures, adapt to change, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate is a skilled design professional with a strategic mindset, capable of leading large-scale system design projects.
Responsibilities
- Planning & Influence: Plan and drive overall design goals and planning efforts. Influence team and external stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Work on complex problems with cross-functional impact. Collaborate across teams to address difficult issues. Improve processes and tools impacting multiple domains.
- Design Craft: Serve as a design thought partner and role model design leadership. Lead large design projects, including prototyping and initiatives. Master industry-standard design software and adopt new methodologies.
- Design Systems: Identify design system gaps and opportunities. Coach others on system usage. Connect project work to the Intuit platform.
- End-to-End Thinking: Consider the entire product suite and experience. Resolve dependencies across team boundaries. Exhibit a platform mindset and experiment to improve the system.
- Customer & Market Insights: Leverage industry, trend, customer, and competitor knowledge to develop design strategies. Ground design work in market and industry context. Utilize research methodologies and apply findings to design.
- Data Fluency: Lead conversations on data-driven experiences. Identify key questions and success criteria. Design experiences integrating multiple data sources. Advocate for the power of data in design.
- Technical Acumen: Advocate for and contribute to the design system. Mentor designers on customer experiences. Demonstrate thought leadership in human-centered and AI-driven design.
- Business Knowledge: Understand business strategy and balance short/long-term goals. Prioritize work to drive business impact. Make successful business cases for design decisions.
- Strategic Impact: Contribute to planning by identifying design opportunities that drive business results. Engage in impactful work beyond core responsibilities.
- Communication & Partnership: Clearly articulate complex design solutions. Build rapport with partners. Influence and persuade stakeholders. Effectively handle feedback and manage executive involvement.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Uplevel the craft of others through feedback and coaching. Coach on interpersonal and presentation skills. Implement and define team processes. Participate in hiring.
- Design Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary teams on large projects. Create a productive and collaborative work environment. Bring curiosity and innovation to the work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, graphic design, or other relevant field; Masters preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience in design with data and for data heavy products will be preffered
- 10+ years of experience in interaction design, product design or related field, preferably at a SaaS company
- Expert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Deep knowledge of user experience methods, design principles and frameworks.
- Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business results
- Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring stakeholders to get behind the vision
- Exemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams through facilitative leadership
- Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator
