We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

As the Director, Software Engineering for the Experiences Platform, you will lead the evolution of how our customers interact with our entire ecosystem. You are responsible for the foundational technologies that power our global Design System, GenAI-driven UI (GenUX), and dynamic web/mobile experiences.

Reporting to the VP of Applications and Development Experiences, you will lead a high-scale organization that supports 7,000+ developers and powers over 500 web applications and 16+ mobile apps. Your mission is to bridge the gap between design and production-ready code, enabling "Done-For-You" (DFY) agentic experiences that are interoperable, cohesive, and AI-native.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Impact

1. Architect the Future of GenUX & Agentic UI

  • Lead the development of Generative UX, creating common widgets and agentic UX patterns that allow GenAI experiences to be seamlessly stitched across Embedded, Proactive, and Immersive modes.

  • Enable the "paved road" for dynamic UX composition, ensuring AI-driven personalization is consistent across all customer touchpoints.

2. Scale the Unified Design System (IDS)

  • Drive the strategy for a unified, ecosystem-wide Design System, providing codified components and AI-ready tools for global offerings.

  • Externalize IDS capabilities for third-party developer consumption, creating a seamless "Better Together" integration for partners.

3. Revolutionize Designer-Developer Velocity

  • Deliver production-quality tooling that eliminates friction in the handoff workflow, effectively blurring the boundary between design and frontend development.

  • Manage a massive platform footprint including 1,200 plugins and 100+ mobile libraries to ensure peak development velocity.

4. Drive Strategic Expansion of Business Use Cases

  • Owns the technical roadmap for upcoming business use cases including building self-service capabilities that enable new revenue streams

5. Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Directly manage a high-performance engineering org, partnering closely with Distinguished Engineers (DEs) and Product Management to execute a 3-year strategic vision.

  • Foster an InnerSource culture, enabling partner teams to contribute to and leverage platform capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

  • Proven Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading large-scale engineering organizations, specifically within Platform, UI/UX, or Mobile infrastructure.

  • Scale & Complexity: Demonstrated success managing platforms used by thousands of internal developers and millions of end-users.

  • AI/ML Integration: Deep understanding of how to integrate Generative AI into frontend architectures (Agentic UX) and dynamic content delivery.

  • Full-Stack Ecosystem Knowledge: Expertise in Web and Mobile (iOS/Android) development lifecycles, including CI/CD paved roads and design-to-code automation.

  • Strategic Execution: Ability to translate high-level business goals (revenue generation, ecosystem growth) into technical requirements and execution plans.
