Job Overview

Intuit is looking for an exceptional Group Design Manager for the QuickBooks Live product.  QuickBooks Live is a portfolio of online expert services—bookkeeping, tax prep, and more—that connects small businesses with trusted, QuickBooks-certified virtual experts. Through the combination of powerful AI and the QuickBooks Live experts, QuickBooks is creating a future where every business owner feels empowered to run their business with confidence. 

This role will focus and build an already world-class design team, by galvanizing the team around a mission, building the team culture and helping to continuously elevate the craft of the team members.  Intuit has been design driven since its inception. Design-thinking (D4D) is at the core of Intuit’s process and employed company-wide to identify opportunities and iterate through to solutions. As a modern design leader, you are focused not only on people leadership but also creative directing the work with a deep passion for the design details. You will work intimately with some of the world's top design and engineering talent to grow an amazing team that does the best work of their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a world class product design team that believes real design is one of the few differentiators in an AI fueled landscape. 
  • Deeply care about your own design craft, in service of building quality products for our customers. 
  • Builds the team culture through pushing for sharper ideas, better execution and bolder thinking.
  • Consistently sets the bar for quality design and can challenge safe choices on the team.
  • Influence cross functional leaders  to think differently.
  • Drive and mentor bold decision making in a matrixed environment. 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading and managing a team of 5 or more product designers (or similar roles). Experience managing adjacent design functions, like Content Design, is nice to have.
  • Track record of leading design teams to deliver high quality and impactful design solutions
  • Deep knowledge of UX design process and design-thinking process
  • Passionate about designing customer-driven experiences.
  • Great communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and peers in a large corporation
  • Experience building a vision, strategy and planning across functions
  • Track record as a strong partner and collaborator across functions and with partner teams
  • Some experience working within or defining design systems
  • Proven effectiveness operating within a data-driven culture; experience collaborating in agile or a similar product development process
  • Excellent knowledge of web and mobile development and technology
  • Experience managing team members in multiple locations
  • Familiar with design tools (ex. Sketch, Photoshop or Illustrator)
  • Small business or financial software experience
  • A portfolio with relevant case studies and work examples
