Job Overview

The Tech Strategic Programs organization delivers for Intuit and Tech Strategy by transforming and driving how our Technology ecosystem operates to accelerate outcomes for our customers.  This small, yet mighty team works with senior leaders and partners across the company.  We focus on strategic planning, the operating rhythm, executive narratives, workforce programs, and a portfolio of the most critical work that deliver to the highest priority areas for growth and customer impact.

We are looking for a strategic and organized leader with a passion for innovation and data-driven optimization.  As a Principal of Tech Program Management, you will work alongside senior leaders to deliver a portfolio of special technology programs critical to Intuit’s long term growth plans.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve the Technology ecosystem operations to deliver on our platform strategy at scale
  • Ensure we are making progress to expected outcomes for our highest priority goals
  • Define and/or lead strategic programs that are often nascent and/or ambiguous in platform technology and use program framework best practices, tools, and techniques
  • Forge relationships with senior leaders from within and beyond Technology to influence at the VP level and above within a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrate ability to build strong partnerships across teams in delivering the best outcome of programs
  • Leverage your strong technical acumen to navigate the software development lifecycle, platform architecture, and accelerate our technology outcomes to benefit our customers

Qualifications

Connect Strategy to Execution

  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of the business outcomes and industry trends, organizational and Intuit strategy, business/operating model and performance drivers, and uses this as an input to facilitate the creation of strategy and drive execution to deliver on the strategy at project/program/process/portfolio level
  • Prioritizes within a portfolio or a large-scale, complex project/program/process to accelerate delivery of the business outcomes and influences the overall prioritization across portfolios
  • Identifies when a decision or tradeoff is needed, assesses options and provides principled and data-driven recommendations to drive effective decision making across the portfolio or a large-scale, complex project/program/process

 

Execute with Rigor

  • Leads teams to define program outcomes, create program framework, build end to end delivery plans and establish governance model for large-scale, complex programs. Leads and motivates teams to execute against the plan, in order to deliver business outcomes
  • Develops and drives the operating rhythm at the organizational level to set strategy, monitor performance, inspire teams and instill accountability. Creates an environment of rigor for teams to collaborate with clarity on accountability, outcomes and success measures
  • Leads teams to identify risks and dependencies upfront, quickly determines optimal paths to green and provides recommendations that optimize program delivery. Communicates clearly on program progress, trends, insights and predicted performance to stakeholders with a clear narrative on the need for strategic changes and adjustments to plan. Researches and ideates to operationalize solutions with creativity and resourcefulness

  • Defines, implements and proactively drives adoption of proven frameworks, best practices, tools, and templates that are repeatable, durable and scalable
  • Identifies, recommends and drives continuous improvement opportunities to ensure outcome delivery and improve business efficiency. Tests with rapid experimentation, shares learnings across the community and drives areas of improvement at scale. Amplifies impact by challenging status quo and scaling through others
  • Drives craft development, is viewed as a thought leader and coaches leaders to create an environment where Program Managers and Business Operations can do the best work of their lives

 

Lead Change

 

  • Known as a credible, influential and boundaryless change leader, strengthens trust across teams, enhances network of key partnership and generates broad support with well-established and trusted network, in order to lead change with velocity
  • Leads team to formulate effective change strategy for large-scale and complex change effort, develop a clear change management plan, identify impacts of all key changes and drive end-to-end execution on the plan
  • Exhibits extreme ownership for large-scale, complex change effort. Initiates conversation with senior leaders to get alignment, supported with a compelling and data-backed case for change. Proactively manages relationships with stakeholders at all levels during change and influences them to take actions. Inspires and instills confidence in the team

 

Technical Domain Expertise

 

  • Skillfully navigates all program/portfolio areas, leveraging deep domain experience to accelerate outcomes, predict challenges and prevent failures. Designs AI capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple programs. Identifies and harnesses the expertise of others to reach innovative solutions
  • Possesses deep expertise in software development, architecture, and lifecycle, applying appropriate SDLC methodologies and systems thinking to deliver complex technical programs or portfolios end-to-end. Recognized by technical stakeholders as a strong thought partner, providing useful technical input and insights that drive strategic decisions
  • Enables operationalization of Intuit’s Tech Strategy and Priorities through Builder Culture concepts. Works closely with teams to boost engineering and operational excellence. Influences and accelerates platform leverage across the tech ecosystem, increasing development velocity at scale across Intuit
  • Possesses deep knowledge of Intuit Tech Strategy, aligning work with the strategy, deepening cross-domain expertise, and highlighting any impact on program/portfolio outcomes as a result of technological decisions

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $204000 - 276000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
