The Virtual Expert Platform team utilizes design and research methods to understand consumer and expert attitudes, needs, and motivations to achieve our goal of "connecting people to experts." As an intern, you will work alongside our dedicated design researchers in our internal design studio, which includes a diverse team of visual designers, product designers, design technologists, design ops, and content designers. You will be part of a culture that is collaborative, customer-focused, and supportive, driven by designers and researchers who are passionate about their impact.
Responsibilities
⦁ Assist in refining research questions into clear study goals and hypotheses under the guidance of senior team members⦁ Support the planning and execution of research projects to gather valuable insights that can inform decisions related to our customers and product innovations⦁ Help synthesize and document data into accessible insights and frameworks that help align the team on significant areas to address⦁ Contribute a fresh perspective to help champion the customer’s voice and needs in discussions and planning⦁ Maintain an enthusiastic, can-do attitude, willing to assist across various tasks and engage with multiple stakeholders⦁ Continuously learn and contribute to the evolution of the research team’s methodologies⦁ Receive mentorship and training aimed at professional and personal growth in Design Research
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
⦁ Current enrollment in a graduate program in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field; some experience (academic or applied) in Design/UX Research methods is preferred⦁ Experience with research data collection and analysis platforms (such as UserTesting, Qualtrics, Outset.ai, or similar), facilitation tools (such as Figjam, Miro), and design tools (such as Figma, Adobe XD) is advantageous
Depth of Qualitative Research Craft:⦁ Familiarity with basic qualitative research techniques, such as interviews and usability testing⦁ Ability and enthusiasm for learning about moderating discussions and uncovering deeper insights⦁ Proactive engagement in a fast-paced environment while creatively solving problems
Experience with Quantitative Research:
⦁ Interest in augmenting qualitative insights with hard data⦁ Eagerness to learn about designing simple quantitative UX studies and analyzing data
Strong Synthesis and Communication Skills:⦁ Ability to translate data into simple insights and recommendations⦁ Developing skills in storytelling, data visualization, and presentation⦁ Willingness to present findings under guidance to teams and stakeholders⦁ Effective communication of insights across various mediums (such as slide decks, videos)⦁ Ability to balance independent and collaborative work, advancing research with minimal supervision and proactively seeking help when necessary
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Southern California $41.58/hour. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
