Job Overview

The Payroll Analyst II plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll in Canada within the Global PACE (Payroll, Automation, Customer Experience) organization. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. The Payroll Analyst II will validate and audit payroll data, ensuring compliance with Canadian wage and hour laws, provincial and federal tax regulations, and company policies.

Success in this role requires independent thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage large volumes of data. Additionally, the Payroll Analyst II will provide support to the Staff Payroll Analyst and offer guidance to managers and directors on payroll-related actions, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the payroll input and review of the Canada bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll inputs from third-party vendors, timekeeping systems, and HRIS platforms.
  • Perform detailed analysis and validation of payroll results using reports and 
  • Audit timekeeping system data before exporting it to the payroll
  • Reconcile HRIS (Workday) files with the payroll system (ADP).
  • Conduct payroll general ledger account reconciliations and collaborate with the Accounting team to resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and recommend preventative
  • Continuously assess payroll processes for improvement opportunities and support standardization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain clear and accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners, vendors and leadership, providing exceptional customer support.
  • Apply company policies to ensure correct payment of wages, overtime, bonuses, and benefit
  • Maintain compliance with Canadian payroll regulations, tax legislation, and labor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or CPM (Certified Payroll Manager) certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll-related experience, preferably in a Canadian payroll
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience in payroll operations within a shared services or multi-province
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while applying documented guidelines and past
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving
  • Strong time management and organizational
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Workday and ADP Globalview systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and analyze
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Southern California $85,500 - 115,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
