Job Overview

We are looking for a creative problem solver with a passion for tackling tough problems to join the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) Engineering team and serve as a program leader, with responsibility for delivering technical outcomes aligned with third party vendor solutions. If you’re passionate about delivering awesome enterprise-level outcomes at a scale that helps transform the lives of our customers, we would love to have you join the VEP Engineering organization, as a Principal Tech Ops Program Manager, supporting our highest priority tech initiatives. Our Mission is to accelerate the outcomes of the VEP engineering organization by driving for clarity among chaos and uniting cross-functional teams to operate with velocity.

Responsibilities

  • Kickstart multi-vendor programs, aligning disparate leaders and programs on single program outcomes.
  • 3P Tech Landscape: Collaborate with vendors and VEP teams to create a framework for documenting and managing the overall third-party technology landscape.
  • Vendor Partnerships/Roadmaps/POCs: Identify and develop opportunities to partner with key vendors on feature development, technology roadmaps, and commercial relationships. Initiate and manage proof of concepts and pilot programs to ensure that tech teams are aware of and can leverage modernization opportunities.
  • Vendor Strategy/Capability Mapping/Redundancies: Align vendor strategies with Intuit's tech strategies, identifying and mitigating potential conflicts and risks. Ensure accurate representation of vendor tech capabilities within Intuit's City Map and establish clear tech ownership (DACE). Identify and eliminate tech redundancies/clones to optimize costs and streamline technology.
  • Vendor Engagement: Implement a scalable vendor engagement model based on vendor criticality. This will ensure appropriate cadences, alignments, and relationship-building opportunities are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: To optimize vendor performance, we need a strong vendor management framework. This includes clear KPIs integrated into contracts, regular monitoring, proactive engagement, ensuring contractual compliance, and performance-based incentives. This strengthens relationships, optimizes investments, and drives business success.
  • Vendor Escalation: Enhance collaboration with vendors by establishing clear escalation paths for emergency scenarios, contract negotiations, and roadmap alignment.
  • Financial Analysis and Negotiation for Commercial Investments: Build financial models to assess total cost of ownership and return on investment for key vendor technologies. Use insights to inform contract negotiations, approvals, and ongoing cost optimization.
  • Create program structures that empower teams to achieve successful outcomes
  • Manage program reporting and Sr. Leader escalations and communications
  • Define multi-org product & operational standards, dashboards, and processes
  • Influence program outcomes to align with Intuit’s technical & business strategy
  • Bring outside-in learnings to the team
  • Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across Product Development,
  • Product Management, Design, Marketing, and Customer Success
  • Develop a close working relationship with the portfolio stakeholders to ensure that the team is focused on the highest priority programs, and is helping deliver the most value to our customers
  • Develop common mechanisms for keeping key stakeholders informed on the portfolio progress, risks, and issues

Qualifications

  • Strong Program Management team leadership experience, including 10+ years leading multiple complex vendor and software development programs.
  • Strategic, creative problem solver with demonstrated ability to work in a matrix  Ability to influence at all levels and without direct authority, lead end-to-end, and bend seamlessly between strategic and tactical work.
  • Establish rapport, credibility, trust and build strong partnerships across organizations  in delivering the best outcomes for complex programs.
  • Outstanding communication skills appropriate for executive-level audiences, strong presentation skills and compelling storytelling abilities. Able to visually communicate complex topics and influence stakeholders to take action.
  • Ability to rally teams behind your execution plan, communicate a clear story of challenges and opportunities, and align executive teams on program outcomes.
  • Experience driving program outcomes in an Agile/Scrum based environment balancing the desire of date driven business outcomes and prioritization-based development outcomes.
