Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior SOX Data and BI Analyst to join Intuit’s Finance Data Governance team. You must have a passion and a strong background in BI development, for financial reporting operations and implementing data risk-mitigating SOX ITGC and ITAC controls. You must also be able to communicate clearly, work effectively with diverse groups, use quantitative and qualitative analytical methodologies and tools, quickly research, understand, and document new processes and reporting requirements. As an individual contributor, you will have ample opportunity to work with finance and accounting business process owners and collaborate closely with Intuit’s technology ecosystem partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand Intuit’s Enterprise Finance data customers and their data reporting/ BI needs, data ecosystem, data management practices, and applicable international and financial service sector-specific data compliance, controls, and risk management requirements (e.g., SOX data integrity controls and report validation, IRS 7216).
  • Collaborate closely with Finance data customers to translate ambiguous business needs into agreed-on requirements, mock-up design, technical solutions, and actionable development activities or project plans.
  • Independently design, develop, implement, and maintain financial and accounting reports/dashbaords in QlikSense and Tableau.
  • Support finance data control owners and business data stewards in governing key finance data/BI products and critical finance data assets.
  • Perform detailed code annotations and development documentation to improve maintainability and knowledge transfer for complex BI queries and data models.
  • Collaborate closely with Intuit’s technology ecosystem partners in managing data quality issues, including data issue identification, alerting, triaging, conducting root cause analysis, remediating, and reporting.
  • Recommend and implement report/BI optimization opportunities, such as conducting a comparative analysis of BI data modeling and usage data.
  • Recommend and implement BI development best practices and automation opportunities.
  • Support business process owners in meeting data compliance requirements, such as designing and operationalizing data control activities.
  • Support finance data stakeholders such as data consumers and partners with a customer-focused approach.
  • Follow regulatory trends and industry-leading practices in SOX data compliance, Finance data management, etc.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is: Southern California $124,500 - $168,500.

 

This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, management of information systems, or a similar STEM degree with 5+ years of hands-on working experience in data management and/or data governance.
  • OR Master's degree in data science, computer science, management of information systems, or a similar STEM degree with 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data management and/or data governance.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Hive, or similar data programming languages.
  • Strong background in BI development (e.g., QlikSense, Tableau), code annotation and providing data management support in finance and accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of technology and data risk management, SOX ITGC, and ITAC controls implementation experience to assure financial reporting data integrity, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Hands-on experiences in Business Intelligence (BI) reporting requirements gathering and documentation
  • Hands-on experiences in managing full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for BI reporting development.
  • Accounting and Finance domain knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tell stories and present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and detail orientation to produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
