The Developer Experience Organization has the charter to increase development productivity and deliver a world-class developer experience. The team is building the next-generation Development Experience, which will maximize the velocity and delight with which Intuit developers can create awesome products and drive innovation for Intuit's flagship products like TurboTax and QuickBooks.

Intuit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Development Portal with a strong background and passion for building successful web applications, services, and APIs that deliver big value to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Designing/developing web software that improves developer productivity
  • Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to deliver end to end, high-performing, highly reliable, scalable and operable solutions.
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
  • Ability to adopt changes. Be bold and have the ability to innovate and challenge status quo
  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams - product management, XD, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of the project
  • Mentor junior engineers within the team
  • Have a quality mindset. Squashes bugs with a passion. Works hard to prevent them in the first place through unit testing, test-driven development, version control, continuous integration and deployment.
  • Be passionate about solving customer problems. Develops solutions that result in a passionate customer/community following
  • Be comfortable taking vague requirements and working with Product Management and Designers to craft, test and implement elegant solutions for our customers

 

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Southern California $149,500 - 202,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.

Qualifications

  • Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science or related area.
  • 5-8 or more years of hands-on experience in software development, with working knowledge of REST services, Java &, J2EE technologies, hosting, database and networking.
  • Experience using Gen AI to solve complex problems
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, detailed and organized
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams
  • Helpful, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems. Strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals and their practical application
  • Experience with AWS is highly desirable
  • Solid communication skills. Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture process
  • Experience with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
