Our designers are involved at every step of a project - from gathering insights, brainstorming, prototyping and experimentation to launching pixel-perfect designs. They use AI, data, and deep customer empathy along with diverse craft skills to design remarkable experiences for customers.

We’re seeking a talented and experienced Senior Product Designer to join the QuickBooks Workforce Solutions team, focused primarily on Payroll features for mid market businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, deliver, and contribute user experience design for Payroll experiences for an industry-leading mid market platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other designers, product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver end to end user experiences that go beyond MVP to delight customers
  • Conceptualize a broad spectrum of ideas and then narrow based on experimentation and user research
  • Plan and conduct user research with clear goals, including surveys, usability testing, and user interviews
  • Deliver user flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and pixel perfect specs for development
  • Advance a strong point of view, backed up by personal expertise, design rationale, customer data, and industry trends
  • Solicit feedback and contribute constructively to design reviews
  • Work closely with developers to ensure implementation is to spec
  • Work on multiple projects at one time, using strong communication skills to manage time and expectations appropriately

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in interaction design, product design, or related field
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant field. Equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Deep knowledge of design principles, methods, layout and composition, interpreting and applying a standardized design system
  • Deep empathy for customer problems and understanding of business needs and goals
  • Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business results
  • Expert at conveying ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wireframing and prototyping
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and documentation skills. Proficient in development hand-off, including QA-ing designs and articulating implementation details/specs in user stories
  • Mastery of Figma, auto-layout
  • Effective communicator, presenter, and negotiator
  • Content design experience a plus
  • Experience with designing for financial software a plus
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strong craft and collaborative process
