
Senior Staff Product Manager, Platform Experience (Mailchimp)

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Senior Staff Product Manager to lead the development of foundational capabilities for Mailchimp’s creative generation tools and editor. In this role, you will drive the vision, strategy, and execution for core platform products, including advanced features targeted at tech-savvy users.This role requires a strong customer-backward mindset, an understanding of UX best practices, and a balance between technical depth and strategic decision-making to deliver scalable solutions that meet user needs.
You will also look at whether to build or buy. You will make sure we use the right tools and partners to speed up innovation while keeping quality.
Responsibilities
- Drive Platform Foundations for the Editor
- Define and execute the roadmap for foundational capabilities that power Mailchimp’s creative generation tools, ensuring scalability and flexibility.
- Innovate and enhance technical platform features, such as the “Code Your Own” suite, tailored to advanced and technical customers.
- Partner with design and UX teams to deliver user-friendly, intuitive tools that empower creativity for all user levels.
- Define and Evolve the Platform Architecture
- Lead the design and implementation of a modern, extensible architecture for Mailchimp’s editor in partnership with engineering.
- Advocate for content interoperability and frameworks that enable seamless integration across channels and systems.
- Make Build vs. Buy Decisions
- Evaluate vendor partnerships and third-party tools to identify opportunities to accelerate innovation through external solutions.
- Balance in-house development with external solutions, making strategic recommendations that align with long-term goals.
- Collaborate on Technical Vision and Execution
- Align product strategy with technical execution through close collaboration with engineering, design, and cross-functional partners.
- Advocate for scalable solutions while balancing trade-offs between technical debt and delivering customer value.
- Partner with leadership to prioritize investments in foundational capabilities, platform architecture modernization, and customer-facing innovations.
- Customer-Backward Thinking
- Engage deeply with customers, especially advanced and technical users, to understand their workflows and challenges.
- Leverage customer insights, data analytics, and research to prioritize features and inform decision-making.
- Ensure all technical solutions are rooted in customer needs and enhance the overall user experience.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a strong focus on technical products, developer tools, or architecture-heavy initiatives.
- Proven ability to evaluate and execute build vs. buy decisions, incorporating third-party tools and partnerships effectively.
- Deep understanding of modern software architectures, including extensibility, modularity, and interoperability.
- Strong knowledge of UX best practices and a track record of delivering intuitive, user-friendly solutions.
- Experience defining and driving migration strategies for legacy systems while ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of aligning both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer-backwards approach to decision-making.
- Experience with SaaS platforms or marketing automation tools.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks, content management systems, and creative generation tools.
- Knowledge of multi-channel content interoperability and frameworks for extensible architectures.
- Experience working with developer ecosystems and customer segments requiring advanced customization.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:
Bay Area California $191,500 - $259,000This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
