Staff Technical Program Manager — Multi-Entity Account Scale & Access Lifecycle
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
Intuit's Identity organization is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to focus on how our platform scales for large and complex customers. Our Identity Platform is the primary gateway for millions of customers across TurboTax, QuickBooks, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp — a durable strategic lever that ensures personalized experiences are delivered with world-class security and compliance.
This role sits at the center of one of Intuit's largest growth bets: serving customers whose organizations look nothing like a single-owner small business. Accounting firms managing hundreds of clients. Multi-entity businesses running dozens of legal entities across currencies and locations. Mid-market companies with real hierarchies, real headcount, and real governance requirements. The users you build for are the people your customers employ — the staff, contractors, and accountants they invite into their own Intuit account — and the platform they administer today was designed for a much smaller shape of customer.
You will own two initiatives end to end. Scale is the work of taking our account model from hundreds of entities to thousands, delivering bulk and group-level administration, and standing up an API-first surface so customers and partners can manage identity programmatically rather than one user at a time. Access automation is the work of making the joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle automatic — permissions applied correctly the moment someone is added, revoked the moment they leave, with the audit trail to prove it — collapsing onboarding that takes weeks and eliminating access that outlives the person who held it.
We need an AI Native, results-oriented and empathetic technical leader who can navigate complex system architectures, establish order in ambiguity, and drive technical excellence in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. This role is based in Bengaluru India and partners daily with the engineering and product teams driving both initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Drive Technical Excellence: Own and drive two critical identity programs — multi-entity account scale and automated access lifecycle — from scope definition through launch and adoption. Navigate complex microservice architectures, multi-tenant account and permission models, and intricate system dependencies to deliver capabilities that are secure, performant, and reliable at scale.
- Own the Scale Initiative: Drive the work of taking our account model from hundreds of entities to thousands — hierarchies, groups, bulk administration, and an API-first surface so customers and partners can manage identity programmatically rather than one user at a time. Dive deep into the technical subject matter and re-emerge with an end-to-end blueprint the delivery teams can execute against.
- Own the Access Automation Initiative: Drive the joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle to automatic — permissions applied correctly the moment someone is added, revoked the moment they leave, with the audit trail to prove it. Partner with engineering on the provisioning architecture and with product on the administrative experience that sits on top of it.
- Connect Strategy to Execution: Synthesize business strategy, customer signals, and delivery realities to prioritize across both initiatives and keep teams focused on the highest-impact outcomes. Lead the tradeoff discussions, recommend the execution path, and ensure follow-through with stakeholders.
- Execute with Rigor: Partner across teams to define program outcomes, build the end-to-end delivery plan, and establish the governance model for both initiatives. Develop and drive the operating rhythm — planning, reviews, cutline sessions, and decision forums — that sets direction and instills accountability.
- Own Risks and Dependencies: Both initiatives carry committed dependencies from product teams across Intuit. Uncover risks and dependencies before they materialize, proactively escalate blockers, determine the optimal path to green, and hold partner teams to dated commitments.
- Identity Architecture Partnership: Work with Identity Architects and engineering leaders to ensure account hierarchy, provisioning, and access patterns scale consistently across the Intuit ecosystem, and that both initiatives compose cleanly with the authorization and governance work running alongside them.
- Lead Change Through Migration and Adoption: Own the path from the current account model to the new one — not just the capability, but how existing customers get there without disruption. Identify the impact of key changes, develop the change plan, and exhibit extreme ownership driving from plan to sustained adoption, tracking that customers actually move rather than that the feature shipped.
- Enable Scale and Velocity: Build the frameworks, tooling, and instrumentation that make identity program delivery repeatable — and apply AI agent tools to accelerate program analysis, delivery, and stakeholder communication, evaluating AI-generated program artifacts with the same rigor applied to human-generated output.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years in technical program management within platform organizations or high-scale software development environments, including demonstrated ownership of programs spanning multiple engineering organizations.
- Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Identity Platform Depth: Direct experience delivering customer identity and access management (CIAM) capabilities — authentication, authorization, account and organization modeling, or user provisioning and administration — in a product-facing platform serving external customers at scale.
- Access Model Fluency: Working knowledge of role- and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC/PBAC), permission and entitlement models, delegated administration, and the failure modes that come with them — over-permissioning, role sprawl, and orphaned access.
- Multi-Tenant Hierarchy Modeling: Experience with systems that represent a customer's own organizational structure — parent/child entities, groups, delegated admins, cross-organization access — and the design tradeoffs between flexibility and comprehensibility at scale.
- Technical Domain Expertise: Strong grasp of SDLC methodologies, microservices architecture, and platform design, with the systems thinking to form an end-to-end blueprint in an unfamiliar problem area and the credibility to be treated as a thought partner by technical stakeholders. Fluency with API-first delivery, including developer-facing surfaces and programmatic administration.
- Scale Judgment: Demonstrated experience taking a platform capability from a small-customer design point to a large-customer design point, including the migration path for customers already on the old model.
- AI-Native Delivery: Demonstrated use of AI agents and tools in your own program work to accelerate analysis, structure delivery, and sharpen stakeholder communication — with firsthand judgment about where AI accelerates delivery and where it introduces risk.
- Leadership Style: Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority, at a scope where you define the program rather than inherit it. Credibility as a boundaryless change leader who drives from plan to sustained adoption. You are a self-starter who values "Leadership as a Coach" and supports the growth of those around you.
- Communication: Excellent articulate and warm communication skills, with strong written fluency. You can compress a complex program into a page an executive can act on, and simplify technical problems into actionable insight for engineers and leaders alike.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to establish order in ambiguous situations and use rapid experimentation to learn fast and pivot when necessary.
- Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to track and report on program health, delivery velocity, and customer impact metrics.
- Preferred: Experience with identity standards and protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, ReBAC/ABAC engines such as OPA); B2B or B2B2C SaaS serving mid-market or larger customers; experience delivering through partner, reseller, or professional-services channels.
