Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Intuit is looking for an exceptional Group Design Manager to lead design for the Fintech

Platform — the foundation enabling money movement across Intuit’s ecosystem. This includes QuickBooks, TurboTax, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp — all of which depend on secure, reliable, and elegant financial infrastructure to serve customers across the world.

This role is distinct from experience design roles embedded in product teams. The Fintech Platform Design team sits at the foundation of Intuit’s financial systems, crafting reusable UI components, designing the next generation of financial primitives, and enabling internal teams to deliver consistent, secure, and trustworthy financial experiences. This team also plays a critical role in shaping the developer experience for both internal and third party partners - ensuring that APIs, tools, and documentation are intuitive, consistent and easy to integrate.

You will lead a team of designers focused on solving hard system problems — like visualizing funds movement, abstracting bank-linked account states, and standardizing trust-building moments — through design that scales across diverse financial use cases. You’ll help define how design elevates platform capabilities used by both internal teams and customers — simplifying complexity while building trust at every touchpoint. We’re looking for a design leader who thrives in ambiguity, navigates deeply technical problem spaces, and brings clarity to foundational experiences that underpin Intuit’s most critical financial flows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of designers responsible for foundational design patterns like onboarding to financial products, payment method widgets, account verification flows, digital wallet, ledger visualizations, etc.
  • Drive the design strategy for horizontal, reusable financial components that are adopted across multiple product teams and experiences.
  • Partner with product and engineering to shape the future of financial primitives such as embedded wallets, unified account models, and real-time funds movement.
  • Define and maintain a scalable platform design system optimized for financial reliability, usability, and trust.
  • Design end-to-end developer experiences - including API interaction flows, onboarding toolkits, error handling guidance, and supporting documentation - to make our platform easy to build with.
  • Advocate for developer usability in both internal and third-party contexts, ensuring platform features are discoverable, understandable, and consistent.
  • Balance immediate UX needs with long-term vision by designing both what’s needed today, and what enables better money experiences tomorrow.

You’re a Great Fit If You

  • Thrive in system-level problem spaces — especially in financial domains or infrastructure layers where precision and clarity are paramount.
  • Have experience designing components, frameworks, or UX patterns that serve multiple product surfaces.
  • Lead through influence — collaborating with design, engineering, risk, compliance, and platform PMs to get to high-quality outcomes.
  • Have empathy for developers and experience designing API-first platforms or developer tools.
  • Know how to design for ambiguity and scale — delivering design that holds up across millions of users and billions in financial transactions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in product design with 2+ years leading designers
  • Experience working on platform teams, design systems, or infrastructure-level components
  • Deep UX craft and systems thinking across interaction design, pattern architecture, and internal usability
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating reusable UI, horizontal product thinking, and design that elevates trust.

Bonus Points For

  • Fintech, payments, or financial services experience
  • Exposure to developer tools, design systems at scale, or trust and safety surfaces
  • Experience enabling other teams through platform or infrastructure work

This is a unique opportunity to lead the design of financial infrastructure at scale — shaping how money moves through Intuit’s platform and building the design foundation that teams across the company will build upon.
