We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Join the Platform and Development Xceleration (PDX) Group as a Group Design Manager leading design for internal tools that power how Intuit builds, deploys, and scales software. You’ll shape foundational developer experiences—like Cloud Workspaces, service provisioning, and runtime tooling—that enable faster, more secure, and reliable development at scale.

You’ll be part of the Developer Design Group leadership team, reporting to the Director of Design. In this role, you’ll lead a team of product designers focused on service development experiences and collaborate closely with engineering and product leaders across platform domains.

This role plays a critical part in Intuit’s transformation into an AI-driven platform company. You’ll help build infrastructure and tools that support fast, secure, high-quality AI agent development, and drive the creation of standardized, intelligent platforms that increase developer productivity and service availability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design strategy and execution for internal service development tools, including Cloud Workspaces, Paved Roads, and core platform services.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product designers, fostering craft excellence and career growth.
  • Design for developer workflows around environment provisioning, deployment pipelines, service reliability, and observability.
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to align UX strategy with long-term technical architecture.
  • Shape AI-powered platform features that accelerate development and reduce friction across the stack.
  • Implement research and telemetry-driven feedback loops to drive iterative product improvements.
  • Champion usability, accessibility, and consistency in high-complexity developer-facing tools.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is Bay Area California $226,000- $305,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.

Qualifications

  • Strong strategic vision: a key partner in driving the execution of the platform vision. You support business goals through future-oriented, novel solutions that challenge assumptions and unlock innovation.
  • Exceptional design leadership: you lead large-scale, complex initiatives by fostering alignment across design, engineering, and product. You grow the size and scope of design impact while promoting inclusivity and collaboration.
  • 10+ years of product design experience, with expertise in developer tools, infrastructure, or technical platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience managing designers, with a track record of mentorship, hiring, and performance development.
  • Deep systems thinking, with an ability to reduce complexity and scale coherent experiences across multiple tools and workflows.
  • Fluent in design tools (Figma) and agile product development methodologies.
  • Effective communicator and storyteller, skilled at aligning cross-functional teams and influencing leadership.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, containers, observability stacks).
  • Experience designing for internal platforms, developer environments, or service operations tooling.
  • Exposure to AI agent development infrastructure or machine learning workflows.
  • Comfort using telemetry, data dashboards, and experimentation insights to guide iteration.
