Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Intuit's 8,000+ developers build products that power the financial lives of hundreds of millions of people. PDX — Platform Developer Experience is the team that makes those developers faster, safer, and more effective. Our north star is 3x Developer Velocity: measurably tripling the speed at which developers move from idea to production — not through incremental tooling improvements, but through a fundamental shift to AI-native, Done-For-You platform experiences.

We're looking for a Staff PM who can operate at the intersection of strategy and execution across multiple platform layers simultaneously — infrastructure, operational intelligence, developer tooling, and production reliability. You won't just define what gets built. You'll shape how PDX thinks about AI-native platform design, define the measurement frameworks that show up in company-wide goal reporting, and move 8,000 developers faster by changing the platform beneath them.

This role sits at the frontier of how enterprise developer platforms are evolving: from infrastructure teams that ship APIs, to intelligence teams that ship AI-native experiences directly in developer workflows. If that transition excites you, read on.

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • You'll operate across multiple platform layers simultaneously — infrastructure, data intelligence, developer tooling — each with different users, adoption motions, and success metrics
  • You must drive adoption without mandate across 8,000+ developers and dozens of platform teams
  • You're defining new interaction models (natural language interfaces, MCP-based tooling, agentic workflows) — not iterating on existing ones
  • Success requires changing developer behavior at scale, not just shipping features
  • You'll own measurement frameworks that directly feed executive-level goal reporting — the numbers have to be right, and the story has to be clear

The 3x Developer Velocity Mission

3x is not a slogan — it's a design constraint. Every platform capability PDX builds is evaluated against one question: does this meaningfully reduce time spent on toil across the developer lifecycle?

As Staff PM, you will own the measurement framework that makes 3x visible and credible:

  • Inner Loop: Lead Time to Change, PR Merge Velocity, Coding Start Time
  • Outer Loop: Deploy Time, Incident Resolution, Infrastructure Config Time
  • RDR Loop: Change Failure Rate, MTTR, Agent-Driven Proficiency

Your products should move these numbers. Your dashboards should prove it.

What You'll Own

This role will focus on one or two of the following areas based on candidate strengths and business priorities, while influencing the broader PDX ecosystem as a Staff-level contributor.

  • ODL Intelligence — Unlocking Intuit's Operational Data Lake (Key Strategic Investment) Transform Intuit's Operational Data Lake from a resource accessible only to SQL experts into an AI-native, self-serve intelligence platform — where any PM, TPM, developer, or engineering leader gets operational insights in seconds using natural language. Own the product strategy across five pillars: DFY Ingestion, Data Catalog & Consumption, AI/ML Enablement, Mid-Market Readiness, and Scalable Governance. Drive MCP server integration, semantic catalogs, and natural language-to-Athena SQL interfaces. This is one of the highest-leverage intelligence bets in PDX — unlocking Dev360, FinOps, GenAI, and operational decision-making across the company.
  • AI-Native Developer Tooling & MCP Ecosystem Define and launch MCP servers that bring platform capabilities — cloud provisioning, load testing, chaos injection, metric queries, DR orchestration — directly into developer IDEs, eliminating context switching entirely. Own Intuit's MCP Marketplace strategy, drive adoption across Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf, and grow the innersource skills ecosystem that accelerates AI adoption across the PM and engineering community.
  • Cloud Abstraction & Network Infrastructure Own the shift from IaC-heavy provisioning to platform-managed, IDE-first developer experiences — where infrastructure is described, not configured. Drive Done-For-You cloud abstraction, self-serve VPC management, IPv6 readiness, and compliance-by-default guardrails (PCI-DSS, SOX, SOC2). Target outcomes: 70%+ reduction in provisioning time, elimination of manual CloudOps toil, and a foundation for agentic cloud operations.
  • Production Reliability — DR, Chaos & Performance Own the platform's proactive reliability posture across three interconnected areas: enterprise-scale DR orchestration (multi-workload failover, AI-generated recovery procedures), chaos engineering (Smart FMEA, CI/CD-integrated chaos stages, shift-left resiliency enforcement), and performance engineering (cloud-native load testing, auto-generated scripts, IDE-embedded testing via MCP). Drive the organizational shift from reactive incident response to prevention at code time.
  • Change Management — Safety by Design Evolve Change Management from a compliance gate into a proactive AI-driven risk platform. Own intelligent risk scoring, shift-left change visibility across the full delivery lifecycle (IDE → Pre-PR → Deploy → Canary), self-serve HCAP workflows for peak operational periods, and an agentic future where low-risk changes auto-approve. Measure success in the metrics that matter: reduction in change-related P1/P2 incidents.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Define platform-wide product strategy and multi-year roadmaps grounded in developer research, operational telemetry, and company goals — with a clear point of view on where PDX needs step-function improvements, not incremental gains
  • Own the 3x Developer Velocity measurement framework: instrument the right metrics across the PDLC, build the dashboards that make progress visible to leadership and developers alike
  • Define platform abstractions and product boundaries that prevent fragmentation across PDX domains as the ecosystem scales
  • Ship AI-native platform experiences — MCP servers, natural language interfaces, agentic workflows — that change how developers interact with infrastructure, data, and operations
  • Operate with a builder mindset: prototype solutions, contribute to innersource repositories, personally drive adoption, and turn developer friction into product opportunity
  • Partner across PDX, IKS, Traffic, GBSG, Identity, AppFabric, FinTech, and BU teams to align requirements and unblock delivery across complex multi-team dependencies
  • Serve as a product evangelist: communicate strategy at executive forums, publish thought leadership internally and externally, and represent PDX's platform vision in the cloud-native community (CNCF, open source)
  • Convert high-ambiguity charters into clear strategies, executable roadmaps.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 7+ years of PM experience in platform products at scale, with hands-on ownership of distributed systems environments
  • Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS preferred): VPC architecture, IAM, Kubernetes, service mesh (Istio/Envoy), CI/CD, and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, SOX, SOC2)
  • Familiarity with operational data platforms: data lakes, Athena, Redshift, or equivalent — including schema design, query patterns, and access control
  • Experience with or strong understanding of AI/ML developer tooling: MCP servers, LLM-powered workflows, agent-based systems, or IDE-embedded AI experiences
  • Awareness of load testing, chaos engineering, DORA metrics, and reliability engineering practices

Product Management Skills

  • Track record of shipping platform products with measurable adoption and business impact across large engineering organizations
  • Ability to define and operationalize company-wide measurement frameworks for complex, cross-cutting strategic metrics tied to executive goals — with rigor in methodology and clarity in communication
  • Proven portfolio management: strong say-do ratio across quarterly planning while balancing feature work, tech refresh, and run-the-business commitments
  • Comfortable owning the full product arc: strategy → Alpha → Beta → GA → deprecation → successor roadmap

Staff-Level Leadership

  • Builder mindset: demonstrated track record of going beyond the PM role — prototyping tools, contributing to innersource repositories, or personally shipping solutions to real developer friction
  • Operates with systems thinking across interconnected platform domains — seeing how changes in one area create leverage or risk in others
  • Strong cross-org influence without authority: proven ability to align engineers, architects, and VPs around a shared platform vision
  • Exceptional communicator across formats: design critiques, executive roadmap reviews, external blog posts, developer community talks
  • Deep empathy for the developer experience — you understand what slows developers down across the full PDLC, and you have the conviction and relationships to fix it at the platform level

What Success Looks Like

  • In 6 months: You've shipped a platform capability that demonstrably reduces developer toil, defined a measurement framework leaders use to make real decisions, and contributed a tool or skill the broader community builds on.
  • In 12 months: You've shaped multi-year strategy for your focus area, driven measurable progress toward 3x Developer Velocity targets — reduced lead time to production, increased self-serve provisioning to near 100%, reduced time-to-insight from ODL from days to minutes — and influenced the platform philosophy of PDX beyond your direct ownership.
  • At the staff level: You are the PM other PMs come to for how to think about AI-native platform design. Your measurement frameworks show up in IG-03, IG-09, and 3x Velocity reporting. Your products are the ones cited in executive forums as proof of what PDX can deliver.
